Still a handful of spaces open to build a Squairform 16 at our workshop in January! Sign up ASAP so you get your choice of fabric colors! Registration is open for the Keystone Kiters' 2026 Winter Workshop. On January 17-18, led by Darryl Waters, we'll be making the Squairform. Darryl says, "The Squairform 16 is a 4 foot by 4 foot flowform style parafoil. The major design goal for the kite was to remove internal keels so graphics were not obstructed. The kite features an easy to adjust bridle to fine tune its flying performance. Once the bridle is tuned in, it flies in a wide wind range of 6-25+ MPH with no additional adjustments needed, has a fairly light pull, and handles gusty, turbulent wind very well for a parafoil." This kite took 2nd and 3rd places at the 2025 AKA kitemakers' competition. You'll be designing your own front panel, and the workshop kit includes the rear panel, side keels, internal ribs, and bridles. Plus the material for a fun round stuffsack.
Didn't get to make one of these at U-MAKE last spring? Here's your chance! Registration is $160, which includes your workshop kit, plus lunch and snacks on both days. The workshop happens at the Village Hall in Camp Hill, PA. You'll need to bring a sewing machine; hot cutting tools and templates are provided. To register, use PayPal ([email protected]) or PM for a mailing address. Once your payment is received, we'll send you dimensions for the front panel (you must bring your own front panel to the workshop!) and details on color choices for other parts. See you in January.... be there and be Squair!
