While visiting Archโ€™s Iguana Reserve, we also learned about their sturgeon reserve.

They help protect and raise the young sturgeon until they are big enough to be released into the bay. Even though they are free to roam the reef, many still stick around the area, making it another amazing part of the experience.

It was great to see conservation efforts both on land and in the water, and to learn more about how local wildlife is being protected here in Roatรกn. ๐ŸฆŽ๐ŸŸ๐ŸŒŠ

One of the best parts of having a local guide is discovering the hidden spots you would never find on your own.

We asked for a great local place for lunch, and he said, โ€œI got you!โ€

Next thing we knew, we were pulling up to Jenโ€™s Homemade Island Food. With a choice of chicken or pork, we left full, happy, and with the taste of amazing island food still on our minds. Jen cooks for the locals and serves meals until she runs out, and thanks to our awesome guide, we were lucky enough to get the last meals of the day.

After lunch, we took a short walk to one of the islandโ€™s three chocolate factoriesโ€”and yes, of course, there was free tasting. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿซ

We finished the afternoon walking the promenade and checking out a local dive center for a possible future trip.

The reef comes alive at night. A UV light brings a new dimension to night diving. Some of the coral glows a bright green. It was like Neon Nights at the reef tonight.

Found this fish gang running around the reef ๐Ÿชธ

They are a group of Blue Tang surgeonfish. It's interesting to watch them swim in a group and then swarm a part of the reef and clean parts, then move to the next area

It's the kind of face only a mother could love ๐Ÿ˜˜ ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸฅฐThis Bearded Toadfish was a nice find.
