Byron Center’s Cole Krauss finishes his career with 101 wins! What does it take to get 101 wins? Dedication, perseverance, sacrifice, grit, mental toughness, being coachable, and a desire to work harder than you can possibly imagine.

Congratulations to Cole Krauss! BC Career Record Holder with 101 tennis wins!! Most in school history. What an accomplishment. Way to go Cole!

Byron Center Tennis State Champions - 2D Nolan Booth and Brayden Slot!!

This is what state champions look like! Aggressively coming to the net, split stepping in unison, weight perfectly balanced, and athletically ready to immediately close the net with an overhead.

Midland MI - Byron Center Tennis finished in 2nd place at the 2 day D2 State finals today for the BEST FINISH in BC history!! “We were strong at all flights and came in focused and ready to play in this tournament,” said Byron Center head coach Andy Ely. “We had a goal for every player to win their first match, which we knew would set the tone for day 1.”

At the end of the day, BC sent 6 of its 8 flights to the day 2 Semi-Finals (another BC record). Day 2 started very strong with 4 of the 6 flights making the finals. After all matches were completed, BC ended up with 3 state runner up finishes at 4 singles Cole Krauss, 3 doubles Aidan Banchoff and Ben Vander Stelt, and 4 doubles Zeke Sandholm and Brody Slot.

Capping off the day was Byron Center’s FIRST EVER State Title win from the 2 doubles team of Nolan Booth and Brayden Slot!!

“The guys were resilient all year long and were ready for this deep state run. I am so proud of how hard these guys played. These seniors bought into the process 3 years ago, and over time, they have seen the result of all their hard work. Something truly special.”

Forest Hills Northern, MI - What an outstanding performance by the Byron Center Tennis team yesterday at Regionals. The BC Bulldogs won its 2nd Regional ever making it 'back to back' Regional wins for the program. BC fought like crazy all day long and ended up in 6 of the 8 finals; ultimately winning 5 of them! Winners were: 4th singles Cole Krauss, 1st doubles Rylan Vandenberge & Casey Schans, 2nd doubles Nolan Booth & Brayden Slot, 3rd doubles Aidan Banchoff & Ben Vander Stelt, 4th doubles Zeke Sandholm & Brody Slot. With the win, Byron Center qualifies for the State Meet in Midland, MI on Oct 22 and 23. "The boys came in knowing what they needed to do. They were hungry and they played like it", said head coach Andy Ely. "This is a very special team who is eager to see what can happen at State. They will be ready."

Also of note yesterday was BC's 2nd doubles flight of Nolan Booth and Brayden Slot who won their 30th match of the year for the most wins ever in one season. Please come out and support your Bulldogs at State this year!
