Our next Waheela R bike check comes to us straight from the finish line. rolled to an impressive 5th place age group finish and rode a clean race despite the mud this year! Hillary said the Waheela R allowed her to ride everything the course threw at her with confidence and speed. This was Hillary’s PR at unbound and in her words, “It was the bike.” Music to our ears. Way to go, Hillary!

Waheela R's carbon layup is designed to give you the perfect blend of stiffness and compliance. Stiffness was added to the bottom bracket area and lateral rear triangle for maximum power transfer efficiency. Compliance was baked into the fork and vertical rear triangle to smooth out bumps in the road and track through rough gravel.

Meet Neruda Diaz (.22)! We're stoked to have him racing Waheela R this gravel race season. Neruda has a busy race calendar ahead and we thought it would be fun to ask some hard hitting questions ahead of his next block of races.

Why did you choose to work with Otso for gravel racing?
“Gravel I feel is one of few sports where you can pick and choose who you want to work with. I see Otso as more than a bike company, it has a family feel that other companies don’t have.”

How would you describe the ride of the Waheela R?
“It's a snappy yet stiff bike that makes it enjoyable to race and train on. Gravel racing is so dynamic and diverse, I love having a bike I can trust on rough terrain and on fast roads. I love running 2.0 mtb tires and pushing the limits of a gravel bike the Waheela R lets me do so.”

What are your 3-4 priority races on your calendar?
“Sea otter, Leadville, and big sugar.”

What is your preferred feed zone snack that isn’t gel or goo or hydration mix?
“I love a Gatorade and post race a Mexican coke .”
