The second stop in the 2026 UCI DH World Cup in Loudenvielle was a wild ride to say the least. A blazing fast, loose track meant everyone was on their toes just staying upright. Mille, Joe, Juan, Cameron, and Oscar pushed the limit all weekend, working towards their goals, with a few missteps that kept them from the results they were seeking. All eyes forward, the team is setting the stage for strong results to come as they get deeper into the WC season!

Queen Svenja is crowned 👑 Unbound XL Champion once again!

Each story is written by the rider on their journey through the Flint Hills. The protagonist is at the mercy of the elements during the many hours they traverse this landscape, and it’s against this backdrop that we watch, in awe, while these riders experience their trials and tribulations. Testing their physical and mental limits while battling an uncontrollable Mother Nature.

356 miles of pedaling, pushing, half-swimming across rivers, and raiding convenience stores for supplies. 27:11:32 of rain, hail, lightning, mud, and wind. All with the singular goal to just, keep, moving. “Just keep moving…”

One full day, three hours, eleven minutes, and thirty-two seconds after leaving Emporia to do battle, she returned victorious.

Congratulations 🏆!!!

The 2026 XL rolled out this afternoon surrounded by massive crowds under clear skies and humid temps that hinted at the storms that would pop up once the sun went down. Riders are well into their 9th hour of racing and the pace is properly epic in both the men’s and women’s races. While the rest of us nod off before taking to the start line tomorrow morning, they’ll be racing towards the sunrise. We’ll see their dots again in a few hours.

This evening we had a chat with Belgian CX pro turned gravel racer in this lovely garage-turned-service-course on the outskirts of Emporia. We get into how to prevent a breakaway win (and how to get into the breakaway), how silver components just look great, even on a carbon race bike, why you should always save your chopsticks, and our favorite, ‘what’s in your saddle bag?’

is coming into this year’s looking for redemption after an early race crash took her out of contention in 2025. Sitting 7th in the after Sea Otter, she’s leaning into her MTB prowess and looking to the more technical sections of the course, and the fact that out here in the flint hills, it’s always the legs that do the talking at the end of the day. We chat about tactics, team tactics vs. lone wolf racing, and perhaps a secret late race fueling strategy that some riders have been training with this spring.
