Senior send-off! 🎓⛷️

They came. They carved. They charged. 🔥

Kovyn, Danny, Sonja, Bennett & Emily — Your energy, leadership, and heart showed up in every training day, every start gate, every finish.

These banners capture the speed, style, and fire you brought all season — but your impact goes far beyond the course. Thanks for the memories, and we hope to see you back with the crew down the road!

Now go chase what’s next — full send, as always. We’ll be cheering you on every step of the way. 💥🥹

Happy National Siblings Day! 💙⛷️

Ski racing is competitive. It’s gritty. It’s cold early mornings and long race days. But it’s also one of the only sports where siblings of all ages can share the same hill, the same chairlift, and the same finish line — all in the same day.

From hand-me-down race suits to finish-line breakdowns, from being your toughest critic to your biggest fan — no one pushes you (or knows you) quite like your sibling.

At Buck Hill, skiing is a family sport. Even on race weekends, siblings are right there in it together — cheering, competing, chirping… and keeping each other honest. 😄

It’s riding up together, then racing your own race.
It’s watching from the side of the course, knowing exactly how it feels. It’s equal parts support system and built-in competition.

There’s a reason so many siblings are part of our Buck Hill family. 💫 Once it’s in your blood… it’s in your blood. ❄️

Even on race weekends, this sport makes space for something rare — real quality time, shared experiences, and simply being together.

Sharing a few sibling shots from media day — because around here, family ties run just as strong as race results.

Here’s to these siblings — skiing together now and for years to come! 🥰 Because at the end of the day, the results fade… but these moments together are what stick. ❄️💙

Our athletes bring the speed.
Our parent volunteers bring literally everything else. 😎

From certified officials running the show as Chief of Race, to start and finish refs standing steady in the wind… from timing shack heroes crunching numbers to gate judges perched on the side of the hill… to course workers driving drills into rock-hard race surfaces…

And yes — to the legendary hand timer who forgot a glove in sub-zero temps and still didn’t miss a bib. 🥶⏱️

Our sport is unique. It simply does not run without volunteerism. There is no race day magic without parents who show up early, stay late, haul gear, reset ruts, and keep things moving.

And it doesn’t stop on the hill.

For every gate judge in the wind, there’s a board treasurer balancing budgets.

For every start ref with a clipboard, there’s an IT mastermind turning a mountain of data into clean, instant results.

For every course worker in ski boots, there’s a volunteer sorting awards, organizing events, answering late-night emails, and making sure the details are handled.

And yes — the dad hiking the hill with the camera lens that needs its own lift ticket. 📸

Some carry radios.
Some carry shovels.
Some carry spreadsheets.
All of them carry this team.

So much of this work happens quietly and behind the scenes — and while we can’t capture all of it, we’re grateful for these snapshots of a few of the incredible parents who make it happen.

You’re giving up weekend days to love on these athletes and make sure every kid has a fair, safe, and unforgettable race experience.

Our kids have grit.
But Buck Hill parents?
Built different. 💪⛷️

Drop a 👏 for our volunteers — we truly can’t thank you enough!

🎙️ Coach’s Take: Mark
Associate Director | U14 Head Coach

⛷️ Why coach ski racing?
For me it always comes back to one simple thing — I loved ski racing myself, and I want to pass that passion along to the next generation. When I reflect on my own racing days, I realize how much those years shaped who I am today. The lessons go far beyond the hill. I see that same transformation starting in the U14 athletes every day.

❄️ What keeps you coming back to coach each season?
Watching young racers discover the sport. The first time they feel a great turn, figure something out technically, or push themselves outside their comfort zone — that’s when the spark happens. Seeing athletes smile, improve, and become passionate about ski racing is incredibly rewarding.

💪 What values matter most in developing young racers?
The values of Buck Hill Ski Racing Team resonate deeply with me: Effort, Grit, and Courage. Every day with the U14s I see those values in action. Effort when they keep working through a drill. Grit when training is tough. Courage when they challenge themselves on the hill. Those lessons stick with them far beyond ski racing.

👨‍👩‍👧 Why are parents such an important part of the team?
This year I’ve spent a lot of time helping with parent education, because the strength of this program comes from the whole community. Coaches, hill management, athletes, and parents all care deeply about the team. When everyone understands the process and supports the athletes, it creates a powerful environment for growth.

🏔️ What’s the biggest lesson ski racing teaches?
There are no shortcuts to the podium! But the road there is full of rewards — friendships, resilience, confidence, and a lifelong love of the sport! And for many athletes, those lessons will shape who they become long after their racing days are over.

A huge thank you to Coach Mark for the passion, wisdom, and care he brings to our athletes and families. We’re grateful for the way he pours into this team!

🎿 BUCK HILL HEADED TO U16 NATIONALS! 🇺🇸

Congratulations to our athletes who have qualified for the 2026 U16 National Championships in Jackson, WY March 28 – April 1!

👏 Brexten
👏 Cole
👏 Claire
👏 Sophia

The U16 Nationals bring together the top 14–15 year-old alpine racers in the country to compete in Super-G, Giant Slalom, Slalom, and Panel Slalom.

Athletes earn their spots through results at the U16 Regional Championships (for our region, the Rocky/Central Championships), where racers are ranked using their best results across SG, GS, and SL to determine who advances to Nationals.

We’re proud of you and excited to see you represent and on the national stage!

🔥 Good luck in Jackson!
