🥎🖤💛 CANES COMBINE CHECK-IN

Five Canes athletes. One combine. A LOT to celebrate. 🔥

This wasn’t about putting our girls against one another. It was about seeing how their hard work is translating into measurable results and where they are beginning their journey toward the next level.

And when we look at the entire group at the combine, our Canes girls made some noise:

💥 EXIT VELOCITY
2 of our 5 athletes finished Top 5 among all 2030 athletes.

⚡ HOME-TO-FIRST
3 of our 5 finished Top 5 among all 2030 athletes.

💪 OVERHAND VELOCITY
2 of our 5 finished Top 5 among all 2030 athletes.

🎓 COLLEGE-LEVEL MEASURABLES
Several of our athletes are already showing individual measurables that fall within current D2/D3 recruiting ranges, giving them an exciting foundation to continue developing toward the next level.

But here’s what we’re most proud of:

These girls are only getting started.

They’re athletes with years of growth ahead of them — physically, mentally and as softball players. Today’s numbers aren’t ceilings. They’re starting points.

We’re going to celebrate the wins, identify the opportunities, put in the work and see just how far these girls can take it.

Five athletes. Five different strengths. One Canes family.

📚🥎 BACK TO SCHOOL, BACK TO WORK! 🥎📚

The season isn’t the only thing these young ladies are preparing for. These are student-athletes who are ready to work hard in the classroom, on the field, and in everything they do.

We are so proud of each of them as they head into a new school year! We know they will learn, grow, lead, and excel both academically and athletically.

The goal is bigger than wins and championships. It’s about building confidence, character, discipline, friendships, and a future they can be proud of. 💛🖤

Work hard. Stay focused. Dream big.

Based out of Fishers, Indiana, this group of athletes is ready to compete, grow, and make some noise on the field.

These girls bring together talent, athleticism, determination, and a love for the game. 💪🏼

Lessons to live by!

Something that people don't know about me: On my first travel ball team, I was the #4 or #5 pitcher- dead last.

I was the pitcher who would throw against all of the really good teams because I threw so slow, and those teams struggled to hit slow pitching.

If there were 13 players on the team, I would have been the 13th player to see playing time.

I wasn't in the starting 9 on the lineup card. In fact, I rarely got at bats.

Oh, and also, I was told by another parent that I probably should quit pitching and I would never make it.

Fast forward 8-10 years after that. I earned a scholarship to play at Texas A&M as a pitcher and a hitter. My freshman year I was the starting pitcher for the first game of the season and threw a no hitter my first ever collegiate game.

That year I was named Big 12 Player of the Year and Big 12 Freshman of the Year - the only freshman to ever have accomplished that in the Big 12. I was also named an All American.

People see me now as the All American who played at Texas A&M. I have been through so much more than just that.

For the players who are told that you will never make it, I am living proof that if you love playing and are willing to sacrifice time, tears and effort to something you love, you CAN make it.

Lesson learned: Never, never, NEVER give up.
"Be so good they can't ignore you."
