We have encouraging news regarding The Store in Mendota. Did you really think Katie and Dawn—and Trinity—would allow their Mendota Trail friends not to have a place to land at the end of a ride? Let them know what you want this store to be! Read on…..

‼️Well Mendota… you asked, and we listened! ‼️

We’ve heard from so many people lately who have told us how much they miss The Store at Mendota, and we can’t tell you how happy that makes us. So… we’ve decided it’s time to start bringing a little life back into this place. 🥹

This weekend, we’re starting small. We’ll have the front door open with tables set up with a little assortment of homemade goodies and things we’ve been working on. We aren’t quite ready to officially open the whole store again. We’ve got some cleaning, changing and loving on this old building to do first to make it feel like ours again. (And we’re actually really excited about that.) The plan IS to eventually open those doors again — just with a fresh start and a little more us inside.

And we want y’all to be part of it!

Those of you who remember The Store before — what do you miss? What did you always come in for? What would you love to see us bring back?

And what would you like to see NEW this time around?

We’ll also be starting a brand-new page for The Store soon so you can follow along while we work on the building, add new things, share what’s available and eventually get those doors completely open again.

Rachel, a world-class fiddle player, and Oscar, a world-class autoharp player, are looking forward to sharing their talents, entertaining the crowd, and catching up with friends—both old and new. Their performances are filled with heart, exceptional sound and the kind of music that makes you want to sit back, relax, and stay awhile.

And come hungry! Dawn, one of the original ladies of The Store @ Mendota, will be serving up her delicious homemade food, so you'll have the perfect treats to enjoy while listening to the music.

Just a few years ago. Many of us enjoy standing on this trestle bridge looking out over the river. This wasn’t safely possible until this trestle was restored. Great things can be achieved when local government and people work together.

Hey Trail Buddies! Some good news for those of you who show up starving on Sundays at the Mendota trailhead.

Starting this weekend through the month of May HodgePodge will be doing a trial run of opening on Sundays. They will be open normal hours of 10 to 5. So the May schedule will be Tuesday through Sunday 10 am to 5 pm. So if you would like for them to continue to open on Sundays please come out and support during the trial.
