Kansas State Fishing Team

We fish local tournaments across the state of Kansas, as well as national tournaments on the college B.A.S.S, FLW, and Cabelas circuits.

The Kansas State Fishing Team is a 3-time national championship winning, competitive, tournament fishing group of team members who are all students at Kansas State University. We are sponsored by some of the best companies out there, including Shimano, G Loomis, Rogers Sporting Goods, Mike Bean Shelter Insurance, Jackall, Simms, Costa, Jewel Bait, Snack Daddy Lures, Trokar, and Navionics. We had 11 boats at our first Tuesday Nighter! Two teams brought a 3 fish limit to the scales. First place was Max Coughlin and Will shepherd with 8 pounds 15 ounces. Second place was Ayden Shulte and Layson Weaton with 8 pounds 6 ounces. They also took home big fish with a 3 pound 5 ounce smallie!

Our next tournament will be Tuesday, 9/8!

We are trying something new this semester! Starting next week on September 1st, we will be hosting Wildcat tournaments every week on Tuesdays until daylight savings ends. We will collect cash in the parking lot at 5 and then blastoff at 5:30 and fish until dark. These tournaments will help our team with travel expenses and connect with the community! We look forward to seeing you there!

What an awesome turnout for our benefit tournament last weekend! Despite the huge storms that rolled in right around take off. We are amazed at the great turnout with lots of teams finding success! Here are the top finishers.

1st - Will Shepard and Cayden Harmon (16.51)
2nd - Travis Blenn and Dylan McKee (13.11)
3rd - Tyler Kendrick and Dave Kendrick (11.28)
4th - Eli Huggins and Allan Gardner (11.15)
5th - Larry Brumley and Wayne Wenger (10.97)

REMINDER: We will be hosting our annual Kansas State Fishing Team Benefit Tournament this Sunday May 31st! Registration will start at 5:00 AM and Launch at 6:00 AM. We have attached rules on a second slide in this post. Make sure to bring cash for raffles as we have some awesome stuff to give away. We hope to see you there!

We will be hosting our annual K-State Benefit Tournament on Sunday, May 31st at Melvern Lake, KS! We will be launching out of the Eisenhower East Ramp. Sign-up/Check in will start at 5 am. Followed by a pre-tournament meeting at 5:45 am. Launch will begin at safelight following the pre-tournament meeting. You may sign up at the ramp before the pre-tournament meeting or by the google form in the link in our bio before the tournament. ALL TEAMS MUST BRING $100 CASH TO THE TOURNAMENT FOR THE ENTRY FEE. There will also be a $20 big bass side pot that pays out 100% of entries. All teams MUST be back at the ramp by 3 pm. We will also be having a raffle once the weigh-in concludes! Can’t wait to see everyone there!

The Cats Fishing Team took on Table Rock Lake for stop number three of the MLF college series last weekend. The lake was fishing pretty tough but our teams were still able to find a few fish!

The Cats finished their final tournament of the year this past Saturday at lake La Cygne. Congrats to Max and Derek for winning 1st place

The Cats traveled to Table Rock Lake in Missouri for a exciting two day weekend. The weather shifted from great on Saturday, to cold and windy on Sunday. Congrats to Tyler and Tim for taking home the win on Table Rock.
