🚨 Four New Fly Kits Just Dropped 🚨

Here's how it works: Comment below with the kit number you want. Once you claim it, send me a direct message and we'll get you taken care of.

Kit Pricing
Kit 1 — $90
Kit 2 — $85
Kit 3 — $85
Kit 4 — $80

Add $5 for shipping on all kits.

Payment is through Venmo or PayPal only.
If I were picking, Kit 1 won't last long. That's the one I'd jump on first.

Kits 2 and 3 are built specifically around the Sulphur hatch and what we're doing right now on the White River.

Kit 4 is your backup plan. If the Sulphurs aren't showing, the fish aren't looking up, or you're dealing with changing water conditions, this kit is built around the high-water program that's been producing fish.
Nobody around here is putting together fly kits like this. We roll these out every once in a while, then we take them away. When they're gone, they're gone.

Looking ahead, we're probably going to do another round of kits in these smaller magnetic boxes, and I'm leaning heavily toward some midge kits next. You can never go wrong having a solid midge selection on these tailwaters.

After that, we'll likely shut the kits down for a while until hopper season gets here. Once the hoppers start rolling, we'll probably build some hopper kits for you guys as well.

So don't wait too long. Take advantage of these while they're available because there's no guarantee how long they'll be up.

Comment below with the kit number you want to claim. First come, first served. 🎣🔥

Venmo or PayPal only. Add $5 shipping to the kit price.

White River Right Now Kit

Nobody around here is doing kits like this.

Tell your friends and keep paying attention, because we do these from time to time, especially in the winter. We’ll roll them out, take them away, then bring them back again when we feel like putting something together.

This kit is built around what you should be fishing right now — more pheasant tails, Frenchies, flashbacks, Ruby and Root Beer Euros, plus a small mix of dries and sulphur-style patterns to keep in the box.
There are 43 Euro nymphs in this kit, along with 12 regular nymphs and dries, plus the fly box.

The Ruby and Root Beer Euros are a big part of this kit. Most of what you see out there is tied on lighter wire hooks, and we’re not big fans of that, especially when the water comes up and fish are using the current against you. These are tied the way we want them.

You’ll also get our taller-wing Comparaduns, Parachute Sulphurs, a couple sulphur-looking Walt’s Worms, and the little Brook Sprout Sulphurs we like to trail off our dries.

We only have 3 of these kits.

First 3 that comment below get them. Just comment “I’ll take one” or something close to that, then direct message me.

You can also text me your address at 417-294-0759 and we’ll get it out in the mail to you.

$130 plus $5 shipping.
Venmo or PayPal only on these.

🚨 Sulfur Fly Kit Special 🚨

The first 8 people to claim one get this Sulfur Fly Kit for just $80 plus $5 shipping.

These are going to go fast, so don't wait. We're already starting to see sulfurs flying around, and this kit will be at your doorstep just in time for the hatch.

To reserve yours, simply comment below that you want one. Once I see your comment, I'll send you a message to arrange payment and shipping. If you'd rather not wait, feel free to send me a direct message and we'll get you taken care of.
Please note that payment must be made through PayPal or Venmo.

These kits are built around our favorite sulfur patterns and are designed to help you make the most of one of the best dry fly opportunities of the year.

Only 8 available at this price.

Today was our guide team play day, and it was great to spend some time on the water with Lisa and Daron. We started out throwing dries and waiting for the water to come up. Once the generation started, we switched things up and found some fish in the higher water.

It wasn't about work today—it was about getting away for a few hours and enjoying the river together. I didn't do much fishing myself, and honestly, I didn't want to. I was happy to sit back, relax, and let Lisa and Daron do the fishing while I enjoyed the day.

Sometimes it's nice to take a break from guiding, spend time with the team, and remember why we all love being on the water in the first place.

The May caddis hatch is pretty much a wrap, and this year was definitely different.

Low water made the White River tight, technical, and crowded at times, but it also taught us a lot. Some days we had it dialed in, and some days the fish reminded us who was really in charge.

In this report, we break down the end of the caddis hatch, the start of sulfurs, what we’re seeing on Norfork, the confluence program, afternoon generation, and what to expect heading into Memorial Day weekend.

The North Fork siphon is back up and running, which is definitely good news for the river. They had been running around 4 megawatts, roughly 305 CFS, but now it’s dropped back down closer to 185. I honestly liked the 4 megawatts because it opened up a lot more water for running the jet, but now you’re a little more limited again, so pay attention to that.

The river is about 4 inches lower than it was, and we’re back to having to get out and pull drift boats over a few spots — especially around Cook’s Island and Ace in the Hole. Other than that, you should still be able to float it pretty easily in a drift boat. Rafts and kayaks really have no issues at all.

Overall though, this is positive news because we need that siphon water. It brings extra oxygen into the system. The water had been pretty cold lately, and the fish definitely seemed a little lethargic because of it.
The Confluence has also been fishing well, so that’s still a solid option if you want to run your jet boat on the upper section around Dock Hole and then potentially pull out and re-launch later in the afternoon once water levels drop below.

One thing we’ve continued noticing is when they run water on the White River late in the afternoon — around 4 or 5 p.m. — it seems to hold the Confluence up until close to 1 a.m. before it fully drops back out. The water is still very fishable during that time; it just carries a little denser color to it.

We did get some rain the other day that muddied things up slightly from runoff coming in through Buffalo and Crooked Creek, but for the most part that has already settled back down and conditions are looking much more normal again.

Just a heads up for everyone heading this way. I’ve got a couple days off beginning today and tomorrow, so I’ll finally have some time to sit down and work on a full report today. Keep an eye out for that soon.

New Fishing Report Is Up

Caddis opportunities are still hanging on, low water is still shaping a lot of what we are seeing on the White River, and the Norfork has had some interesting changes too. I also talk about what may be next as we start looking toward sulfurs.

I don’t usually talk much about the fish I miss, but this one was different.

Most fish eat a dry with that soft, subtle sip you come to expect. This one didn’t. He came up aggressive, with most of his head coming out of the water more than a normal sip, and it completely threw off my timing. I just couldn’t gauge the set, and I missed him.
Now here we are two days later, before I start working a lot, and I had one more shot to get out and fish today on my own with a buddy. We made the run all the way to the dam in low water, and I knew I wanted to go right back to that exact spot for one more chance.

This time, it all came together.

Unbelievably, it was a two-foot tiger trout.
That fish made my whole year. If I don’t catch another fish on a dry the rest of this season, I’d still be happy with that one. I’ve caught tiger trout on nymph rigs before, but never a fish like that on a dry on the White River. It was truly remarkable.

That’s a memory Joe and I will always share.

We had been looking forward to hosting Demo Days with Stealthcraft, but with the severe flooding currently impacting parts of Michigan, their focus right now needs to be on what matters most—taking care of their people, their homes, and their community.

With that in mind, we’ve decided to postpone the event. While we know this may be disappointing, we appreciate your understanding as this is far more important than any demo day.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, especially for those of you who had already made plans to come up.

That said, if you were planning to be in the area anyway, we want to take care of you. This Saturday only, we’ll be offering 10% off all flies (excluding articulated streamers) for anyone who was planning to attend the Stealthcraft Demo Days and stop by the shop.

We appreciate all of you and your continued support—and we’ll be sure to reschedule Demo Days once things settle down.

Fishing report is up. The White River caddis hatch is building, the fish are still set up in the same zones, and there are windows if you stay patient. A few big browns have shown up, the bugs are getting more active, and I break down what I’m seeing, what’s working, and what to expect going into early May. Click the link and give it a read.
