🛶 Rental Fleet Reduction Sale! 🛶

We are NOT closing and will continue offering kayak rentals, with reservations. We’re simply scaling back our inventory and reducing the size of our rental fleet.

These kayaks are still in good condition and have plenty of life left in them. In fact, if we weren’t scaling back, they’d still be out on the water as part of our rental fleet.

If you’ve been looking for an affordable kayak, now is a great opportunity to pick one up. Message us for pricing and availability!

Rock Formations on the Broad River

The river grinds rocks down in interesting ways. Stones get scalloped out, pitted, or even drilled through over the course of years and years. Rain and erosion gradually carve loose large stones from the banks to roll down and rest beside the river until the day they too get ground to sand.

🐢Wildlife Wednesday Post 🐢

It's rare to kayak down the river without spotting a dozen turtles sunning on a rock or a log, always keeping an eye out so they can plop into the water before you get anywhere close to them.

Many species of turtles call the Broad River home including river cooters, southern painted turtles, spiny softshell turtles, and of course, lurking in the depths, snapping turtles.

Our own driver/hauler David and friend of the show Parker took a trip down the river Sunday and it was the perfect day. Water level was 1.22, which is slightly low but did not hurt the trip at all.

A byproduct of the reduced flow of kayaks this summer seems to be increased wildlife. I've never seen a bald eagle on the Broad River. Sunday I saw two. We saw five hundred turtles, which is fairly standard. Ospreys, herons, geese, ducks, fish, dragonflies, lizards, tadpoles. But don't take my word for it. Go book your trip now at TheSandbarBroadRiver.com.

We're all ready for the weekend, are you?

We sure appreciate everyone making reservations and securing their trips in advance! We know for our returning kayakers it probably seems strange and inconvenient. Know that for 2026 it's the best we've got. Rest assured that the trip down the river is the same one you know and love.

We anticipate temps in the 80s with a few clouds Saturday, and are hoping the river level holds at around 1.25 feet for the weekend.

See you soon

Does your mama paddle? 🛶

It was overcast today but tomorrow promises to be sunnier and warmer. The river level should be just over 2 feet, which is perfect for kayaking the Broad River.

Show a mother your appreciation by bringing her to the Sandbar for some Mother's Day fun and sun!

Book your trip at theSandbarBroadRiver.com and we will see you tomorrow.

The river's around 4 ft and dropping gradually. It'll hit the sweet spot tomorrow and make for an ideal weekend to paddle.

For Saturday and Sunday we anticipate ~80 degrees, slightly overcast, and a perfect water level. If you've been waiting to get back on the river, wait no longer because days like these don't last forever!
