🎃👻 Halloween at TSP 👻🎃

We’ve had a lot of ridiculous costumes, questionable climbing outfits, and very good times at The Scratch Pad over the years… so naturally, we’re doing it again.

This Friday + Saturday, come climb in costume and get **50% off admission**.

The costume does not need to be practical.
It does not need to be flattering.
It probably should not involve a cape near moving equipment. 😬

Just show up, get weird, and get pumped.

🎃 Costume = Half Off Admission
📅 Friday + Saturday

See you in costume. 👻🧗

Utah ice season is almost here. ❄️🧊

Join us Saturday, November 21 at Momentum Millcreek for the 2026 Ice Season Opener, presented by The Scratch Pad.

We’re bringing together Utah’s ice climbing community for a full day of climbing, training, gear, education, and inspiration.

🧗 10 AM–4 PM | Clinics
Drytooling 101, training for ice season, and advanced drytooling techniques using real tools on Momentum’s walls.

🤝 4–6 PM | Social
Gear demos, tool sharpening, live Black Diamond gear testing, prize giveaways, silent auction, and time to connect with the community.

🎤 6–8 PM | Keynote with Will Gadd
Stories, lessons, and inspiration from one of the most legendary ice climbers in the world — joining us in person this year.

A major part of this event is also supporting Utah Search & Rescue. Proceeds from the keynote and silent auction will help support SAR teams, and we’re working to expand that support through training, equipment, and better technical ice-rescue preparedness across the state.

📍 Momentum Millcreek

What a weekend. 🇺🇸🧊

Eight TSP youth athletes competed at the USA Ice Climbing Team Selection Event at the Climbing Collective in Longmont CO Climbing Collective. All eight earned spots on the USA Ice Climbing Youth Team:

Conner Bailey Tessie Rose Bailey
Mathias Olsen Mathias Olsen
Alex Mankouski Alex Mankouski
Nina Mankouski nina m
McKinley Heywood McKinley Heywood
Soren Hotaling
Finn Hotaling
Luke Lauderdale Luke L — our newest TSP team member

Three also earned spots competing with the adults:

🇺🇸 Conner — Adult Lead Team
🇺🇸 Conner, Mathias & Nina — Adult Sp*ed Team

TSP athletes now make up more than half of the USA Youth Team. That’s something we’re incredibly proud of.

These athletes have put in countless hours, pushed through failures and breakthroughs, supported each other, and kept showing up. And none of it happened alone.

So many people have helped build this over the years — coaches and mentors who helped light the first spark, parents who drove countless miles, volunteers, setters, athletes, friends, and a community that believed in what TSP could become. Everyone who has poured something into this place has a piece in what we saw this weekend.

It is an absolute honor to coach these kids and give them a place to pursue something extraordinary. We couldn’t be more proud of them or more grateful to everyone who helped build the foundation beneath them.

And this weekend was bigger than TSP.

Congratulations to every athlete who showed up and gave it everything they had, and especially those who earned the opportunity to represent the USA at World Cup events this season. You are all pushing this sport forward.

Thank you to Tyler Tyler Kempney, Marcus Marcus Garcia, and the USA Ice Climbing Board USA Ice Climbing™ for the work behind a great event, and for continuing to build Team USA and competitive ice climbing in this country.
