🌙 THE C**N SHOOT

Twenty raccoon targets. A completely different course from the one you walked all day. Saturday, after dark, headlamps on.

Depth goes first. Then the edges of things. You'll range a target twice and still not quite believe it. Somebody in your group will call a distance with total confidence and be wrong by eight yards.

More than thirty people walked it last year — and only nine turned in a scorecard. Everybody else came out just to shoot it in the dark. That tells you what kind of event this is.

Most shoots put out thirty targets.

We build forty scenes.

There's a difference, and you feel it about four targets in. A buck and a doe worked into the same setup. A hog you have to thread past a leaning trunk. Three bears at three different distances, and you pick which one you're shooting. Two bulls facing off in the timber.

We don't set targets in a field and call it a course. We build scenes — so you come around the bend and feel like you've walked up on something.

Forty of them, across forty acres and four trails we mix and match. It takes the club weeks to set.

These are real setups from last year's Wing Ding. We build it fresh every year, so what you walk in September will be new to you — but this is the standard.

Sunday morning and we have started registering shooters. What an awesome day to come out and support our scout units in our benefit shoot this year. Biscuits and Gravy for breakfast and smoked pulled chicken for lunch today.

BAC Fans! Our August shoot is coming up this weekend. This will be a benefit shoot for Troop 119. They will have a full kitchen, ready to eat at 7am breakfast - (sat & Sunday) biscuits & gravy and eggs. Lunch (sat) pulled pork & (sun) pulled chicken. Cookies & walking Cobbler. Sides (Sat & Sunday) potato salad, mac & cheese, zucchini bread. Come on out and support the troop, have fun and eat well.
