The Family Museum is proud to offer a well-rounded dance education! Year-long classes in creative movement, ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, and pointe are offered for students ages 3-18.

At the Family Museum, we strive to inspire our students with a life-long love of dance. Our classes focus on building a strong technical foundation while encouraging expression, creativity, and confidence. The year ends with a unique, theatrical production showcasing our dancers’ skills and artistry!

Our Explore Dance Summer Session starts June 15th! This 6-week session is great for dancers looking to move this summer and use their imagination! Little dancers will explore rhythm, coordination, and expression through playful themes that change each session - like animals, seasons, or under the sea. While using their imagination, dancers will develop gross motor skills, musicality, and body awareness. This program is perfect for first-time dancers or returning dancers who love to move, pretend, and explore! There is no specific dress code, but dancers should be able to move comfortably in what they wear. Socks or bare feet work great! To SIGN UP, visit www.familymuseum.org/ExploreDance.

🖍️🌸🌪️ Congratulations to all of our dancers and teachers on a wonderful set of performances! Dancers, you brought your very best to the stage, and it showed in every moment. You were beautiful, strong, expressive, and full of heart! 💚 We are so proud of the dedication, hard work, and artistry that each of you shared with our audiences.

A huge thank you to our alumni who helped make the show run so smoothly—we loved having you home! 💕

Our next senior is Avalon Anderson! You'll see her in the Spiders and Beetle Ball scenes in Thumbelina, and you'll see her in Kansas, Over the Rainbow, Everything is Color, and as the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz! We have loved watching Avalon grow to be the dancer and person she is now, and we wish her all the best at the University of Iowa!
