The Potomac Whitewater Racing Center is a USA Canoe/Kayak Olympic Center of Excellence. PWRC has a record of over four decades of outstanding whitewater racing and competition history along the Potomac River. Mild year round temperatures coupled with world-renowned Potomac River whitewater from Great Falls to Little Falls keeps our local whitewater athletes at the top of the slalom and wildwater r

acing scene. The mission of Potomac Whitewater is to promote the sport of slalom and wildwater canoe and kayak racing, including providing to all actively training and racing BCE slalom and wildwater athletics:

(a) high-quality, year-round whitewater training sites
(b) world-class training facilities
(c) coaching
(d) training camps
(e) other training and racing opportunities

Potomac Whitewater Racing Center’s mission also includes community outreach for the benefit of the community, the club and the sport. We continue to be a leader in the Maryland, Virginia, and D.C. area regarding environmental protection, preservation, and clean-up of the area’s rivers and streams. PWRC organizes environmental clean-up days, and works with the following organizations: Potomac Riverkeeper, American Whitewater, American Rivers, and The Alice Ferguson Foundation.

The Potomac Whitewater Racing Center is opening our doors and our boats to the whole DMV! Meet our coaches, get fitted with a boat, paddle, life jacket, and helmet, and try whitewater kayaking on easy Class I–II water under the guidance of our experienced team.

Come out and paddle with new head coach Danka Mann and veteran coach Tyler Westfall.

Meet at the Brookmont Church at 9:30am on Sat Aug 15 to get fitted for gear, then walk down to the Feeder Canal to get in a boat.

PWRC Spring Feeder Race #3 - Saturday, June 20th 2026

Registration Required by Wednesday June 17th 10pm

This PWRC Spring Feeder race #3 for the 2026 season will be held on Saturday, June 20th, on the Feeder Canal. Race participation is open to all levels of PWRC whitewater slalom paddlers (all groups) and to non-PWRC racers. Each race entry is free to PWRC members; cost for nonmembers is $20.

Schedule: Saturday, June 20th

9 am: course closed for practice
9:15 am: racer’s meeting
9:15am: judges meeting
10 am: race start (Run 1)
and Run 2 will start 20 mins after 1st Run completes

The course will be open for practice prior to the race.

If you are not a current ACA member, please bring $10 in cash to each race to cover the one-time ACA event registration, as is needed for race insurance.

Note: If you are in the PWRC Beginner Group or have less than one year of slalom paddling experience with a coach, check with your coach prior to registration to confirm this race is appropriate for you.

Registration for the June 20th race closes at 10pm on Wednesday June 17th. No late registrations will be accepted.
