South Adams Summer Skills Baseball Camp!

Yesterday marked the 19th year we hosted our annual summer skills baseball camp at Harry F. Anderson Field - sponsored by F&M Bank and Thrivent Financial. THANK YOU!!Over 60 campers came to develop their skills on the diamond and in doing so, chewed some double bubble, threw for milkshakes, and enjoyed a popsicle at the end of each session. Our high school players enjoyed spending time with the future of SA Baseball!

The Starfires earn a split over the weekend to move to 10-12 on the season. In game 1 with Whitko Weaver (10 K, 2B) and Sprunger (2-2) lead the charge but came up short. In game 2 Pyle’s 2 RBI double helped create separation on the scoreboard.

Big week for South Adams…

The Starfires improve to 9-10 on the season with an ACAC win at Woodlan. Baumer (2-4) got the Starfires on the board with a solo homerun, his first of the year. Weaver earns win #3 on the mound.

South Adams is back in action on Thursday against conference rival Adams Central - 5:00 PM at Harry F. Anderson Field.

Banana Ballers in training..

Tonight in our “high poppers” drill set we decided to mix in a few Banana Balls. Tonight’s task when our players saw a yellow ball flying it was their green light and opportunity to try and catch the ball behind their back 😁

No back flips yet… The Savannah Bananas
These Starfires successfully caught a Banana Ball behind their backs and earned a popsicle.

The Starfires (8-10) got beat 4-2 by Blackhawk Christian in the Starfire Invitational and then bounced back to beat Tipton 5-2 in the consolation game. Big day for Derek McKean! He went 6-8 at the plate on the day! 💪🏻⚾️

South Adams is back in action on Tuesday at Woodlan in ACAC play - 5:30 PM.
