Howdy, everyone!
Let me start by saying our gym isn’t like our competitors. We aren’t a facility that’s trying to sign up every person who walks through the door just to pack this place shoulder to shoulder until it looks like every other commercial gym.
When Kaitlyn and I started BB Barbell nearly 4½ years ago, our mission was simple: build a gym that we genuinely wanted to work out in ourselves. A place you could come at any time of day and get a workout in without having to sit and wait on equipment or deal with overcrowding or distractions. We also hoped we’d find a bunch of cool people who’d want to be a part of it and help us pay for it. 😅
We’ve always wanted this place to feel more like your gym than just another membership. Because of that, there have been a few housekeeping things over the past few weeks that have bugged me, but I’ve kept them to myself because, at the end of the day, they’re usually not worth making a post over.
Today, though, I grabbed the dirty towel basket, threw everything in the washer, and when I transferred the load to the dryer, I found one of our most-used TV remotes mixed in with the towels.
Over the years we’ve found the occasional paper towel or random piece of trash in there. It happens. No big deal.
But someone had to physically take a remote from the cardio area, carry it over to the dirty towel hamper, and bury it in the laundry where we wouldn’t notice it until it had already gone through the wash.
So… I guess that’s on me for not checking the dirty laundry for electronics before starting a load? 😂
In all seriousness, help us out a little. Please put things back where they belong, throw trash away, and treat this place like it’s your own. That’s how we’ve managed to keep BB Barbell the kind of gym you all signed up for, and we’d like to keep it that way.
We appreciate every one of you who helps make this place what it is. ❤️
P.S. I will get a replacement remote ordered ASAP! In the meantime, you can use the remote that controls the couch TV!
