Summer is in full swing and it's great to see so many neighbors out playing pickleball at the JM Kastenmeier Courts!

With that popularity it's a good time for a refresher on how to best take care of what we've got. The overwhelming majority of people come to play pickleball. At the same time, there's been some recent mischief at the courts — activity that risks damaging the surface, nets, and hardware that make these courts a valuable community asset.
A few reminders:
- Leave things like bikes, skateboards, chairs, and cleats off the court surface and alleyways — they can scratch or gouge the painted fiberglass surfaces.
- Fireworks have no place on the courts.
- The nets are designed for pickleballs; repeated kicking or hard impacts from larger balls wears down or breaks the nets and hardware.
If you see damage happening or property being vandalized, please call the Beaver Dam Police Department non-emergency line at (920) 887-4612 and let them handle it. Taking matters into your own hands can escalate a situation that's better left to the professionals.
Again, most people are very respectful of this great community asset and we want to encourage everyone to share in our love of the game! See you on the courts!

Pickleball Community — Here's a Great Opportunity to Give Back!

Interest in pickleball continues to explode in Dodge County. Players already rely on the YMCA for court time, and growing membership, kids’ programs, and community demand are increasing the need for facility space. At the same time, our community is facing a serious child-care shortage.

The Y is stepping up to meet these needs with a Child Development Center and Gym Expansion Campaign, which will help provide adequate space for things like:

- Open gym, fitness classes, etc..
- Child care
- Pickleball!!
- Youth basketball

The pickleball community has always stepped up when needed. Now, the Y needs our support to help make this project a reality. This is our chance to make a direct impact.

👉 Please consider donating to the YMCA Child Development Center and Gym Expansion Campaign here.
