Thank you to all of our divers and beach cleaners that came out to Radio Island with us on Sunday! ☀

It was a beautiful day to go diving, and we collected 48 pounds of trash from the shores and the rock jetty!

A special thanks to who helped us coordinate supplies for this mission.

Take a break from the Big Rock madness and join us tomorrow at Radio Island for an afternoon in the sun and under the waves! ☀

Come to dive, snorkel, swim, clean up the beach, or even just for hot dogs at the shop afterward! This is a perfect event for the whole family, and there will be lots of fun to be had. 🌊

This is a great way to do a quick refresher dive in or to try out Radio Island diving, and we are happy to provide a briefing for divers not familiar with the jetty. Meet us on the beach at 1:30 for high tide. If you would like your heavy gear transported on our pontoon boat, please stop by Discovery Diving to load it on the boat around 12pm (gear boat will leave by 12:30). Scuba and snorkel gear are also available for rent at the dive shop. 🤿

We are partnering with Surfrider's Bogue Banks chapter to have beach cleanup supplies on hand if you'd like to help clean up the beach or pick up trash underwater! World Oceans Day in on Monday - let's celebrate by making sure we leave our beaches and oceans cleaner than we found them. 🗑

We have a class for that! Our PADI Night Diver Course will teach you how to safely dive after dark. Training dives are conducted at Radio Island and the rock jetty is a completely different world at night.

Mr. Handsome came to our dive club meeting last week and learned a lot about safe diving. 🐈

For those who missed it, he's willing to recap a few major points:

🫧 As Captain Leroy says, "watch your air, watch your bottom time."
🫧 Take extra care when taking pictures, spearfishing, or shark tooth hunting - it can be easier to loose track of your air consumption and bottom time.
🫧 The Rule of Thirds is a good way to plan your air consumption. However, sources disagree on how each third should be used. What is the Rule of Thirds as you know it? Leave a comment to let us know!
