A Main Racing! Not the way we wanted to finish the night off: with a spin, a DNF, and a busted up kart, but we are still very proud at how hard Luke fought and drove today. He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time at the end. Right side nerf bar got bent in and was rubbing the tire and engine after that contact that was way harder than the video made it look! Racing is not just about winning and losing, it's about the lessons we learn along the way and the type of driver and person we are trying to build behind that wheel. Did you notice how quickly he snapped it back around after getting spun to keep the race green? How about being smart and patient missing that pile up on the back stretch? What about being smart in the incident that took us out of the race knowing, "hey my kart is hurt so I need to pull off to the in-field so I don't cause an accident or mess my kart up worse" without being told to do so? All that is growth for our little 8 year old driver. Yes, our driver was in his emotions because of all that happened and because he didn't get to finish his 2nd A-Main in only 5 races entered at Millbridge Speedway, but these are the instances that will make us better in the long run! We talked it all through at the trailer before heading home, we will fix the kart and come back in 2 weeks to try it all again. P10 in qualify, P4 in the heat, making the A-Main and running 13.1-13.3s lap times consistently is nothing to hang our head low on given the top tier caliber of competition at Millbridge.
We are not a big team with a huge backing, experience and a ton of money, but all of our sponsors, family, friends and people that follow and support us make us feel like a big time racing team! We even had a gentlemen who we never met before come up to us and want to buy some merch to support us today after the race! We honestly could not do this without all of your support. Thank you Nichols Oil Pros, Teacher Jenny Enterprises, LLC, Cunningham Tire, Demon Racing Chassis, Triple Bypass Racing League and Prime Time Racing TV! Thank you Uncle Rusty for braving the heat and being our pit crew. Thank you Mom for snacks, keeping us all cool, and all the pictures and videos. Now to turn our focus on to next week and trying to keep our points lead in our Jr Champ and getting Cooper back on track in the #88 Juicebox at Offical Liberty Raceway Park!
