The first week of the Spring Playoffs is in the books — and we had nail-biters and big wins across the league.

In Division I, the higher seeds held strong, with Kicking and Screaming and Ur Mom FC advancing to face off in the finals.

In Division II, Leftovers FC got its revenge over Old Bay United, while BDFC stayed hot and pulled off a late upset over BSU.

Mary Kate Gelak & Mya McConnell — Kicking and Screaming
Mary Kate powered the attack with 2 assists, while Mya shut down chances on the defensive end in a 3-0 win over The CC Rebellion.

Jordan Young — Ur Mom FC
Jordan was stellar all game and even better in the second half, robbing FC Inner Harbor multiple times in a 3-0 win.

Anneliese Ceisel, Nicole Jones, & Racheal Clark — Tequila Mockingbird
The Tequila Mockingbird trio put on an incredible display of endurance and skill, playing the entire game with no subs and leading their team to a 3-0 win over Taco Hell.

Tony Gollopeni — Leftovers FC
Leftovers continues to surge after a slow start, and Tony’s 2-goal performance led the way in a 4-1 revenge win over Old Bay United.

Peter Abraham — BDFC
Peter controlled the midfield with his best game of the season, distributing the ball offensively and breaking up attacks in a last-minute 3-2 win over BSU.

Chris Warfield — Bmore Real
Chris anchored the defense, allowing just 1 goal in a tightly contested win over Takeout City FC.

We have a new team joining IHSL! Please welcome Hannah and Locker Boyz FC to Division II! ⚽🌊

Hannah, together with her new fiancé Giannini and their good friend Alejandro, are bringing a new squad to the league this summer. After playing together for over a decade across various Baltimore leagues, they know exactly what works — and what doesn’t. After experiencing IHSL during the Spring Season, they knew this was the place to be and decided it was time to build a team of their own.

Thank you all for your support, and we can’t wait to see Locker Boyz FC out at DGA this summer 😎

“You’d be a fool not to join!” Strong words from Ur Mom FC Captain Katie Norman — and we could not agree more.

Since joining IHSL, Katie and Ur Mom FC have experienced a soccer resurgence both in enjoyment and performance. As we head into the playoffs, they sit second in the Division I table and boast several of the league’s top scorers on their roster.

As much as the team has enjoyed being part of IHSL, we think we may love having them in the league even more.

Thank you so much for all of your support, Katie, and for helping make our inaugural season such a success 🫶

Standings look a little different this week as we prep for the first ever IHSL postseason tournament 🤩

Division 1: UR Mom and Inner Harbor finished neck and neck. UR Mom slightly edged Inner Harbor on goal differential.

Division 2: Tequila Mockingbird went UNDEFEATED in the regular season🤯 Bmore Real and Leftovers each moved up a spot, while BDFC jumped 2 spots heading into playoffs!

Next up, we are highlighting our top scorers in Division II — the speedy and dangerous duo from Bmore Real who took the league by storm this spring. Mohamed and Youssef have been best friends since childhood, growing up together in Egypt before finding their way back to each other here in Baltimore.

Now leading the line for Bmore Real, the two combined for an incredible 22 goals this season, each finishing with 11 goals of their own.

First up, we have the Division I winner: the left-footed Ronaldo enthusiast from FC Inner Harbor, Diego Guerrero. Out of all the pictures we’ve seen of Diego holding trophies, this scoring title might have him cheesin harder than ever 😬

After a tightly contested race in Division I, Diego finished on top with 5 goals, delivering big performances all season long against some of the league’s toughest competition.

Many teams came to IHSL looking for a better soccer experience in Baltimore — including Aidan, the captain of BSU.

Since forming the club, Aidan has been deeply involved in the Baltimore soccer scene and has built a reputation for running organized, competitive teams while also prioritizing team culture and making the experience enjoyable on and off the field.

BSU joined IHSL looking for a league with high-level competition and a more supportive, relaxed environment. They have enjoyed the experience so much that they are already bringing a SECOND team for the upcoming Summer season.

Thank you to Aidan and BSU for the tremendous support and for helping us continue building Baltimore’s premier coed 11v11 soccer experience. ⚽🔥

We are at the end of IHSL’s first season, and that means it is time to announce our Golden Boot winners! 👀⚽️

🏆 Division I: Diego Guerrero (FC Inner Harbor)

Diego won a tight race in the top division, finishing the season with 5 goals while three other players finished just behind him with 4 each. Though Division I featured fewer goals thanks to strong defensive and goalkeeper performances across the league, Diego consistently made the most of his chances. His biggest contribution came in a Player of the Match performance against top-seeded Kicking and Screaming, where he recorded 2 goals and 1 assist.

🏆 Division II: Youssef Farah & Mohamed Ahmed (Bmore Real)

You would never guess this was Bmore Real’s first season playing 11v11 soccer! Transitioning from Volo 7s to the big field was no problem for this group, led by the dynamic attacking duo of Youssef and Mohamed, who each finished the season with 11 goals.

Both players recorded hat tricks and Player of the Match performances throughout the season — including Youssef’s 4-goal performance in Week 2 and another 3-goal outing against Taco Hell in Week 7, while Mohamed added a 3-goal performance of his own against BDFC.

Congratulations to our Golden Boot winners! 🏅
