The Department of Recreational Sports in the Division of Student Affairs promotes healthy lifestyle choices by providing development, growth, and education for the University of Georgia through the spirit of recreation. Rec Sports is housed in the 440,000 square foot Ramsey Student Center on the east side of UGA's campus. Program areas include Aquatics, Competitive Sports, Fitness & Wellness, Outd

oor Recreation and Strength & Conditioning. The Ramsey Center includes the Gabrielsen Natatorium's three pools, two strength & conditioning rooms and outlooks with cardio equipment, racquetball courts, the Outdoor Recreation Center, a climbing wall and bouldering wall, three main gyms and fitness studios. Other facilities like the Recreational Sports Complex and Challenge Course are also managed by Rec Sports. Excellence: Be the best: exceed expectations. We’re so excited to celebrate an incredible member of our Rec Sports team who was recognized at the UGA Student Affairs Awards Ceremony in May.

Sarah Hall was named the New Professional of the Year, and it couldn’t be more deserved. From day one, she’s brought energy, care, and a true passion for supporting students and building community. Whether it’s jumping in to help wherever needed, leading the Aquatics area with intention, or showing up for our staff in meaningful ways, their impact has been felt across Rec Sports and beyond.

"No matter the setting, Sarah approaches her work with passion, attention to detail, and intentionality. Sarah cares deeply about her students and consistently goes above and beyond to improve the student employee experience. She’s a huge asset to our team and I am so grateful to call her a coworker and friend. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this award than her."
