We are the Tri-State Sports Commission, and we serve Eastern Kentucky, Southern West Virginia, and Southern Ohio. We are passionate advocates for the power of sports in fostering community, promoting healthy lifestyles, and driving economic growth. As lifelong residents of Eastern Kentucky and Southern West Virginia, we have witnessed firsthand the transformative impact that sports can have on ind
ividuals and communities in our area. From the thrill of cheering on our home teams to the camaraderie built on playing fields and courts, sports have the unique ability to unite us, inspire us, and teach us valuable lessons about discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. We believe that the Tri-State region has tremendous potential to become a national leader in sports tourism and development. With our diverse landscapes, rich athletic traditions, and passionate fan bases, we possess all the ingredients necessary to attract major sporting events, foster the growth of local athletes, and create thriving sports-related businesses. We are particularly interested in using the Commission initiatives to:
* Expand access to youth sports programs, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to participate regardless of background or socioeconomic status.
* Support the development of world-class athletic facilities that can host regional, national, and even international competitions.
* Promote collaboration between states to leverage our shared resources and expertise, creating a unified sports ecosystem for the entire Tri-State area.
* Host, fund, and coordinate sports leagues and programs throughout the Tri-State.
