12 years of teaching yoga.
New Yoga Teachers. Listen, I have something for you.
And the truth is, I did not start with the perfect space, the perfect sequence, the perfect confidence, or the perfect plan.
I just started.
I taught in local parks, breweries, art studios, event spaces, living rooms, backyards, and anywhere someone was willing to roll out a mat.
I taught my kids, friends, small groups, in spaces that were beautiful, awkward, loud, messy, and completely imperfect.
And every single class taught me something.
There were hiccups, nerves, moments I forgot my words.
There were times I questioned if I was doing it “right.”
But there was also so much joy, connection and love to be had!
That is what I want every new yoga teacher to know:
You do not need everything to be perfect before you begin. Begin where you are and teach what you know.
Let it be messy, let it be human, let it teach you.
Do not judge every moment, LEARN from it.
You will refine your voice as you go, you will find your rhythm through practice and become more confident through repetition.
You will understand teaching by teaching. It will unfold, trust the process.
So if you are a new yoga teacher waiting until you feel fully ready, this is your reminder:
Just start.
The room does not need perfection. It needs your presence, your willingness, your care, and your courage to begin.
And because I remember what it felt like to stand in that space between certification and confidence, I created the New Teacher Starter Packet.
It is a practical support guide for new yoga teachers who are ready to begin, but want something to help them feel more grounded, organized, and confident as they step into the room.
Inside, you’ll find checklists, reflection pages, emergency teaching reminders, cueing tricks, and tools to help you trust what you already know.
Because you do not need to wait until you feel perfect. You just need support as you begin.
Comment START and I’ll send you the New Teacher Starter Packet.
