A year ago it was Texas and Texas Tech battling for a national title. Now here we are again. Same stage. Same lights. Same trophy sitting in the middle. Only this time both teams had to fight like hell to get back here. Texas survived elimination after elimination. Texas Tech clawed its way through the loser’s bracket and punched its ticket behind NiJaree Canady and a team that refuses to quit.

This is what the WCWS is all about.

Heavyweights. Superstars. Pressure. Heartbreak. Redemption. Every pitch feels bigger. Every swing feels louder. Every mistake matters.

And the best part? These athletes don’t run from the moment. They want the damn moment.

Texas is trying to prove last year wasn’t a fluke. Texas Tech is trying to finish the job they came one series short of completing. One team gets a repeat. One team gets revenge.

If you’re a softball fan, buckle up.

Because a Texas vs. Texas Tech rematch for the national championship is about as good as it gets.

To our seniors.

It’s hard to put into words how proud I am of each and every one of you. I have watched you grow not only as athletes, but as young women, leaders, and great teammates. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to coach you.

There’s a sadness that comes with this season because the field won’t be the same without you. But more importantly, there’s excitement for the incredible future ahead of you and the new chapter you’re about to begin.

No matter where life takes you, always remember you’ll forever be part of this team, and if life ever knocks you down, I’ll always be there to whisper “GET UP! YOU OWE ME ANOTHER HOME RUN!” Love you guys. Let’s finish our season strong!
