One last laurel for our all-stars: the 2026 Division II Scholar Athletes!

Big congrats to our quartet of Scholar Athletes: Connor Nutting, JJ O'Hara, Lucca Reischman, and Tonton Drobny

There were only 114 individuals earning the award nationwide for D2, which requires players to be on an all-conference team while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.2.

Congrats to our boys and thank you for all your hard work on the field and in the classroom!!

Before summer officially starts and our minds turn to fall ball, we wanted to give one last shoutout to an important group of players from this year’s squad. Founded in 1983, Humboldt Lacrosse had only two women play for the program in the previous 40+ years — and this season, we proudly had FOUR.

Huge thank you to Molly McFarland, Sophia Sarmiento, Alisa Keawprasert and Fallon Johnson for stepping up and becoming such an important part of the team this season. During one late-season road trip, Humboldt only suited up 12 players — 8 guys and 4 women — meaning without our fearsome foursome, we may not have even been able to take the field.

Coach Gus called them “super tough” and “team players” all season long. Molly proved to be one of the fastest on the team, while Fallon earned a reputation as one of the toughest. We were constantly impressed by Alisa’s team-first attitude, whether filling in at middie or stepping into the cage as starting goalie for two games. Sophia brought nonstop intensity, energy and positivity every single day.

We’re definitely bummed that Fallon and Molly won’t be back next season, but excited that Alisa and Sophia are sticking around for fall ball 💚

Sophia said:
“Playing on the men’s team was definitely an adjustment, but I’m glad I joined thanks to the help from Coach Gus, who was very supportive, and the team. This team brought me many new friendships and let me play lacrosse in a new setting.”

Fallon added:
“This was such a cool unique experience and this season gave me lifelong friends and memories. I hope they have a great season next year 💚💚”

Thank you again to all four for making program history and helping make this season unforgettable. 🐗🥍

Humboldt Lacrosse is well represented on the WCLL All-Conference teams this year 🔥🥍

FIRST TEAM
Senior attack Ben Jasinski continued to dominate, averaging 5 points per game after earning First Team honors in 2024 and Second Team in 2023.

LSM TonTon Drobny was everywhere this season, scooping up 50 ground balls and adding offense with 3 points. He builds on a strong 2025 campaign that included Second Team All-Conference and MCLA Scholar Athlete honors.

SECOND TEAM
Freshman standout Lucca Reischman made an immediate impact at attack as the team’s second-leading scorer in 2026.

Senior JJ O’Hara anchored the defense with a team-high 16 caused turnovers, bringing a physical edge every game. A repeat honoree, he adds to his 2025 Second Team and Scholar Athlete recognition, plus Third Team honors in 2024.

FOS Tyler Valdespino dominated at the X, winning 86 of 110 draws for an impressive 78%, while also collecting 50 ground balls.

THIRD TEAM
Midfielder Alec Vargas continued to be a reliable two-way force, ranking fifth in the WCLL in faceoff wins and earning back-to-back Third Team honors.

Connor Nutting (defense) proved to be one of the team’s top disruptors with 12 caused turnovers and 13 ground balls, adding to his 2025 Third Team and Scholar Athlete recognition.

HONORABLE MENTION
Goalie Carson Degarmo led by example all season, both in the cage and as club president, building on his 2025 Third Team and Scholar Athlete honors.

It’s always tough when a season comes to an end — especially when it doesn’t happen on the field.

Unfortunately, PLU was unable to field a team today due to injury, so our final game was canceled.

The Hogs played with heart all season long, and we’re proud of everything they showed out there. We’ll miss seeing this group compete, and we’re especially grateful for the seniors we’re sending off — thank you for everything you’ve given to the program.

At the same time, we’re excited about the future. We’ve got a strong group of incoming players already committed, and we’re looking forward to a fun fall ball season.

More to come as postseason honors are announced — we’re confident several Hogs will earn well-deserved recognition.

SAD NEWS TO REPORT

PLU were traveling with 10 this weekend but one of their players was seriously hurt Thursday and can’t make the game. Unfortunately that means PLU can't field a team and is forced to cancel its games this weekend.

Coach was up late last night doing damage control to see what could be salvaged so stay tuned for any updates! 🤞🤞🤞
