Valleywood has wrapped up its yearly aeration, completing the back nine on Monday and the front nine on Tuesday. After a beautiful weekend of golf and the club championship, this process is always a bit bittersweet — but with how busy the tee sheet stays and the pressure that puts on the course, it’s necessary.
The process starts with a pass of deep tines, followed by pulling cores to make room for sand to work into the ground. Each green is then top-dressed with sand, which is brushed in, watered, and rolled to get the surface back to playable condition. Mother Nature was on our side this year and the process went as smoothly as possible! All early signs say they will be back soon and healthier than ever.
