Our next tournament as Rawlings Tigers Mesa is going to mean a little more.

On September 5–6, our team will be playing in Jayden’s Fight Your Swing Tournament, benefiting 10-year-old Jayden Cardona, a local baseball player who is currently fighting Ewing sarcoma.

From the beginning, we’ve said we want baseball to help us develop good young men. That includes teaching our players that being part of a team and a baseball community means showing up for others when they need you.

Congratulations to all of the players who earned a spot on the Rawlings Tigers Mesa 12U AAA team!

After weeks of tryouts, we are excited to officially welcome this group of players and families to the Tigers. We had a lot of great players come out, which made the decisions tough, and we are really excited about the group we've put together.

To our players: congratulations! You earned it. Now let's have some fun, compete, and see what this team can do.

To our families: thank you for trusting us with your boys. We're excited to have you along for the ride.

We are not just trying to fill spots. We want the right kids and families for this team.

One thing we've promised ourselves from the beginning is this:

Every player we invite to join Rawlings Tigers Mesa should be someone who fits our culture—not just because of their talent, but because of their attitude, effort, and willingness to be a great teammate.

**MEET COACH MIKE**

As our page continues to grow, we wanted to take a moment to introduce the coach behind Rawlings Tigers Mesa.

Coach Mike believes baseball is about much more than wins and losses. While we all love to compete, his greatest goal is helping young athletes develop into confident, accountable, and respectful young men.

Throughout his career, Mike has spent years leading, mentoring, and developing people. That same philosophy carries over to the baseball field. He believes the best coaches teach, encourage, challenge, and help players learn from both success and failure.

Players can expect a coach who will push them to be their best, hold them accountable, celebrate their growth, and still make baseball fun. Anyone who knows Mike knows he enjoys joking with the kids, building relationships, and creating a team culture where players love coming to the field.

We chose Rawlings because their commitment to player development, character, and accountability aligns with the kind of program we wanted to build.

One question we've received is whether all of our practices will be in Apache Junction.

The answer is no.

While we've been using Prospector Park for tryouts, we're committed to finding practice locations that make sense for our families. We'll be looking at opportunities throughout Mesa, Gilbert, Queen Creek, and Apache Junction.

One thing that's important to us is being flexible when possible. If there's an opportunity to make things more convenient for our players and families without sacrificing the quality of the program, we're willing to have those conversations.

We're building a competitive baseball team, but we're also building a family-friendly program.

That's the Rawlings Tigers Mesa approach.
