What a season it has been!
A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support the girls in person and to those who followed along on the livestreams. Your encouragement meant so much to the team throughout the year.
This was a season to be incredibly proud of. The Geckos challenged themselves by competing an entire age division up, with some players facing opponents nearly two divisions older. Despite the challenge, these girls never backed down. They showed tremendous heart, determination, and resilience every single week, improving with every game and proving just how much they can accomplish when they work together. We couldn't be prouder of each and every one of them.
We would also like to thank our amazing coaching staff. Coach Kelsie and Coach Jared brought valuable experience, energy, and wisdom to the team this season. Coach Aaron continued to be the steady voice of reason, providing calm leadership and insight when it mattered most. And Ryan wasn't too bad either—we suppose we'll keep him around.
As this chapter comes to a close, we're filled with both pride and excitement. After three incredible years together in the Angleton SC Recreation Program, the Geckos are taking the next step in their soccer journey and moving on to Academy soccer this fall. While we're excited for the opportunities ahead, it also means saying goodbye—for now—to a few players who helped make the Geckos the special team they are today.
The memories, friendships, and lessons built over these past three years will always be part of this team. No matter where their soccer journeys take them next, they will always have a place in the Geckos family.
