We are incredibly proud to announce that Southern Elite Jiu-Jitsu was voted #3 in Brazoria County in The Facts Readers’ Choice Awards for Martial Arts! ❤️🖤

What makes this even more special is that Southern Elite just opened this year. To already be recognized alongside long-established martial arts academies in our community is something we are extremely grateful for.

🥊 WEIGHT MADE. TOMORROW WE GO TO WORK.

Southern Elite Jiu-Jitsu will be represented tomorrow at Submission Hunter Pro, LIVE on UFC Fight Pass!

Our owner and head instructor, Noah Wyatt , officially made weight today and is ready to step onto the mat tomorrow representing Southern Elite Jiu-Jitsu.

But we’re not heading into tomorrow alone.

Coach Noah’s coach, Justin Renick of Virtue Brazilian Jiu Jitsu , will also be stepping onto the Submission Hunter Pro stage in a stacked 170 lb 8-man bracket with $5,000 on the line AND a shot at UFC BJJ.

Having both Southern Elite and Virtue BJJ represented on a stage like this is something we’re incredibly proud of.

We believe coaches should lead from the front. We ask our students to challenge themselves, compete, perform under pressure, and continuously improve—and tomorrow our coaches will be doing exactly that.

This Saturday, Southern Elite Jiu-Jitsu will be represented on one of the biggest professional grappling platforms around!

Our owner and head coach, Noah Wyatt , returns to Submission Hunter Pro at SHP 104 in Dallas, where he’ll be competing in a 170lb Black Belt No-Gi match.

The event will be broadcast LIVE and exclusively on UFC Fight Pass!

At Southern Elite, we believe coaches should lead from the front. The same person teaching our students every week is continuing to test himself against high-level competition and bringing that experience right back into our academy.

At Southern Elite Jiu-Jitsu, we believe that great coaches never stop learning.

This week, our Head Coach, Noah Wyatt, was in San Antonio completing his Effective Fitness Combatives (EFC) Level 1 Instructor recertification alongside defensive tactics instructors from across Texas.

As many of you know, Southern Elite is proud to support the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office and our local law enforcement community. In addition to coaching at the academy, Coach Noah serves as a Defensive Tactics Instructor for BCSO, helping train deputies in effective, reality-based use-of-force and control tactics.

Continuing education is one of our core values. We are committed to constantly refining our coaching, expanding our knowledge, and seeking out the best instruction available.

While this certification is focused on law enforcement defensive tactics, the knowledge and skills gained will continue to strengthen the training we provide during our Law Enforcement Classes and help ensure officers in our community receive modern, effective, and evidence-based training.

A big thank you to Effective Fitness Combatives for another outstanding course.

Today our defense tactics instructors completed EFC recertification and we’re proud to welcome our newest instructor, Deputy J. Hernandez! 👏
