Does this describe where you’re at?
Most men know something is off. They just haven’t stopped long enough to name it.
It shows up in small moments. The way you carry yourself walking into a room. The way you feel in a photo. The way you avoid certain conversations about your health. Here are the 3 signs.
1. You talk about who you used to be. You reference the athlete, the version of yourself before the business took off, before the kids, before life got heavy. That man is a memory you keep borrowing identity from. The man you are becoming does not live in his past. He is actively building something worth talking about right now. When your best physical chapter is behind you, that is not nostalgia. That is a signal.
2. You feel it but you won’t say it. In the boardroom you carry yourself one way. In the mirror you feel something completely different. That gap between how you present and how you actually feel in your body is costing you more than you realize. It leaks into your confidence, your presence, and the way you lead. You know it. You just haven’t admitted it out loud yet.
3. You keep pushing the start date. Monday. After the trip. After the quarter. After things settle. Every time the date moves you are choosing the current version of yourself over the one you know is possible. That pattern does not break on its own. It breaks when the cost of staying the same finally outweighs the discomfort of changing.
The man you are supposed to be is not that far away. The gap is a structure problem, not a character problem.
