2026 Season Preview: Field Hockey

Amherst College Field Hockey opens the 2026 season at home on Hill Field to take on NESCAC opponent, Conn. College at 12 pm. They finished the 2025 season 9-9 and 4-6 in the NESCAC with appearances in the NESCAC Quarterfinals and the NCAA Tournament.

Carol Knerr enters her 25th season in the Pioneer Valley as the head coach. Senior Maya Harrington and junior Katie Savino both earned All-NESCAC Second Team and NFHCA All-Region Second Team recognition. Junior Caroline Busler and sophomore Bella Kim both come back to Amherst as top scoring options.

2026 Season Preview: Men’s Soccer

AmherstMSoccer opens the 2026 season on Hitchcock Field against NESCAC opponent, Conn. College on Saturday (Sep. 5) at 2:30 pm. They are coming off of a 8-6-3 season in 2025 where they made appearances in the NESCAC Quarterfinals and NCAA Tournament.

Justin Serpone enters his 19th season in the Pioneer Valley coaching the Mammoths. Senior captain Mohammed Nuhu and junior Michael Cherico are returning to Amherst this season and picked up USC All-Region recognition. Junior captain Jacob Dinzeo joined Nuhu and Cherico on earning All-NESCAC recognition. The Mammoths return four of their top scorers in Nuhu, sophomore Vincent Akanbo, junior Obed Opoku, and sophomore Leo Wilensky.

2026 Season Preview: Men’s & Women’s Cross Country

amhersttfxc opens the 2026 season up at the Little Three Championships hosted by Wesleyan on Saturday (Sep. 5) at 11 am for the women and 11:45 am for the men. The Mammoths finished the 2025 season at the NCAA Championships in South Carolina where both sides placed within the top 16 in the field of 32.

Hannah Chappell-Dick starts her fourth season in the Pioneer Valley as the head coach for both Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Programs.

On the women’s side, senior Nikki Chopra, junior Ava Thomas, and sophomore Katie Greenwald all return to be some of the top runners after earning All-Region honors for their finish at the NCAA Mideast Regionals, where the team finished fourth.

On the men’s side, seniors Stan Craig and Harrison Dow nabbed All-NESCAC First Team honors and sophomore Carter Bengtson earned NESCAC Rookie of the Year. At the NCAA Mideast Regionals, Bengtson and Dow were joined by senior Parker Boyle in earning All-Region accolades in aiding the team to an 11th place finish.

2026 Season Preview: Women’s Soccer

Amherst Women's Soccer opens the 2026 season at home on Hitchcock Field on Saturday (Sep. 5) at 12 pm against NESCAC Opponent, Conn. College. The Mammoths finished the 2025 season with a record of 11-5-2 and 5-3-2 in the NESCAC, with appearances in the NESCAC Quarterfinals and the NCAA Tournament.

Jen Hughes enters her 22nd season in the Pioneer Valley as the head coach of Amherst. Sophomore Emma Darling returns to Amherst as their leading scorer after picking up NEWISA All-England Third Team, USC All-Region Second Team, and All-NESCAC Second Team. Senior Jessica Lomo and junior Caroline Coletti also are back for the Mammoths this fall as some of the top scorers alongside Darling.

Amherst College Women's Volleyball opens the 2026 season in the Roger Williams Invitational where they will face Plymouth State and Roger Williams on Saturday (Sep. 5). They finished the 2025 season 7-10 and 2-8 in NESCAC play.

Val Jones returns to the Pioneer Valley for her sixth season as the head coach. Statistical leaders returning include sophomores Addison Lau and Judith Subirats-Bosch, junior Sofia Camillo, and senior Allie McLaughlin, who all contributed on the offensive attack or defensive stops.
