Yoho’s scrimmaged Williams this weekend! After a long hiatus from water polo we were excited to get back in the pool. We won one scrimmage and lost the other but a fun time was had by all! We have a shorter season this year due to COVID restrictions but we’re looking forward to our championships in just 2 weeks. We hope all our loyal Yoho fans are doing well!

Hello to all the loyal Yoho fans!

We hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy. Unfortunately, we will not have a Waterpolo Season this year. We are all very sad about this news but want to thank everyone for their constant support! We loved showing up to the pool and seeing a crowd of purple chanting in support of the Yoho penguins.

Looking forward to the Fall ‘21 season: We nominated 3 amazing player to lead this team. All three have showed a love and great leadership for this team. A big congratulations to Julia Merrill ‘22, Jack Dengler ‘22, and Malcolm Scannell ‘22 for being selected as the 2021 season captains!

Thank you again for all the support. Go Yoho’s!!

Please consider supporting the Amherst Swim and Dive Team in raising money and awareness of the organization Diversity in Aquatics. Diversity in Aquatics aims to promote, educate, and support water safety skills in historically underrepresented communities and to close the "drowning gap.” Black children aged 5-19 in the United States drown at rates 5.5 times higher than white children in pools, and black children aged 11-12 in the United States drown at rates 10 times those of white children.

The team will also be completing 8.46 miles of physical activity on Sunday, June 7 to represent the length of time George Floyd was pinned under a police officer’s knee. Please join me by donating and/or sharing!

Note: We will be taking donations from now until June 9th so that the AAS (Association of Amherst Students) can MATCH every dollar that we donate to Diversity in Aquatics.

ASDT is raising money for Diversity in Aquatics to help start the changes we want to see in our sport and world. We are accepting donations until 6/9, to...

Friends, Family, and Fans!

Welcome back to the best time of the year... waterpolo season! The Yoho Penguins finished the first tournament winning 3 of 4 games. We fought hard against Coast Guard, but unfortunately couldn’t get the dub in the end. We beat Midd, Williams (15-8), and Wesleyan (21-9).

Stay tuned for this weekend where we play against umass, Wesleyan, midd, and coast guard @ Wesleyan.

The YoHos finished the season on Sunday with a hard-fought loss against Coast Guard (8-13) for second place in the Colonial Division, after winning two games on Sunday against WPI (17-0) and UMass (9-4).

Tristan So '21 led the offense with 20 goals this weekend, scoring 5 out of our 8 goals against Coast Guard. Bobby Meyer '21 and Jack Dengler '22 joined him as part of our force of an offense. Flanagan Waldherr '21 and Justin Lee '19 were brick walls this weekend, giving players (and goalies) hell in the defensive end. As always, Julia Merrill '22 was all over the pool, playing almost the entire game on Sunday. Sean Mebust '20 played two and a half games in goal, with Sean Gao '21 splitting the game with him against WPI for the shutout.

Stay tuned for updates on who your ~fearless leaders~ will be next year, and for post-season awards as they come rolling in.

The YOHOs kicked off the 2018 season with two big Ws.

We won our first game against U Mass 10:7 with John Dengler ‘22 making his rookie debut with 6 goals.

Our second game against WPI we showed great team effort, winning the game with a score of 13:1, where eleven out of thirteen of our penguins found the back of the net.

Also shoutout to Sean Mebust ‘20 for screwing up our shutout.

Get pumped for some little three action tomorrow! Tune in at 10:45 for some cow tipping.
