Serving our school and taking pride in Colonel Country! 🧡🖤

Our Varsity Volleyball team spent some time giving back to our school by cleaning up and repainting the trash cans around our football field. We’re proud of these girls for being willing to work hard, serve others, and take pride in our school and community.

It takes everyone working together to make Colonel Country a great place to be! 🧡🖤

Summer 2026 = COMPLETE. ✅

✔️ Two youth camps
✔️ Open gyms
✔️ Workouts/ Lifting
✔️ Team Camp at Rural Retreat
✔️ Team bonding (moo moos included 😂)

This summer was full of hard work, growth, competition, and memories we’ll never forget. Every workout, every rep, every laugh has prepared us for what’s ahead.

Now it’s time for the season to begin.

Two days. Countless memories. 🏐🧡🖤

Our team had an incredible experience at Team Camp at Rural Retreat High School! Over the past two days, we challenged ourselves, learned more about the game, competed, and took important steps forward as a team.

While we grew in our volleyball knowledge and skills on the court, the greatest victory came off the court. The laughs, conversations, and time spent together strengthened our bond and brought us even closer as a team.

We’re excited to keep building on everything we learned and can’t wait to see what this season has in store.

Tryouts kick off next week, and we can’t wait to see everyone in the gym! Be sure to check the schedule for your team and mark your calendars.

Reminder: A current physical must be uploaded to Arbiter before you are eligible to participate in tryouts.‼️

* August 3: Tryouts, 3:00–5:00 p.m.
* August 4: Tryouts, 2:00–4:00 p.m.; National Night Out, 4:00–9:00 p.m.
* August 5: Practice, 8:00–10:00 a.m.
* August 6: Practice, 3:00–5:00 p.m.
* August 7: Fundraiser Meeting, 2:15 p.m.; Practice, 3:00–4:30 p.m.

Middle School Tryouts (6th-8th grade)
* August 3: Tryouts, 5:00–7:00 p.m.

* August 5: Altavista Combined School Open House.

🏐 One more week of summer workouts and open gyms before tryouts!

Reminder: Tryouts are next week! All athletes must have a current VHSL physical completed and uploaded to Arbiter before they will be allowed to participate in tryouts. Don’t wait until the last minute, double-check that everything has been submitted.

Monday, July 20: YMCA Volleyball Camp (1st–8th grade), 9:00–11:30 a.m.

Tuesday, July 21: YMCA Volleyball Camp (1st–8th grade), 9:00–11:30 a.m.

Wednesday, July 22: YMCA Volleyball Camp (1st–8th grade), 9:00–11:30 a.m.; Lift for rising 6th–12th grade ACS female athletes, 1:00–2:30 p.m.

Thursday, July 23: High School Volleyball Clinic with Kate Hardie, 9:00–11:00 a.m.; Middle School Open Gym, 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Additional information: Altavista Volleyball players in grades 9–12 are encouraged to help with the YMCA Volleyball Camp. Volunteers should arrive by 8:30 a.m. each morning and wear Altavista Volleyball gear to help with setup and camp activities.

The Altavista Volleyball family extends our sincere condolences to the Appomattox Volleyball community as they mourn the loss of Coach Mark Drinkard.

Through his dedication to his players, his program, and the sport of volleyball, Coach Drinkard leaves behind a legacy that will continue to be reflected in the lives of those he coached and mentored.

We are keeping his family, the Appomattox Volleyball program, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
