DOUBLE GOLD FOR MALMÖ AT DM! 🏆
What a Saturday! Both our Men’s and Women’s teams took home the gold at the Skåne District Championship (DM)! 🥇🥇
Here is a recap of the day:
💥 The Women’s Team
Our women put on a great performance in 7s, securing the title with a 29-10 win over Pingvin and a 36-12 victory against LUGI!
Coach Marcus Fjelner was incredibly proud of the squad’s development:
"Despite the absence of our regular captain, the team maintained a positive atmosphere and showed great energy. Maja Ljungqvist stepped up as captain for the day and led with confidence. We faced strong opposition and well-played games from both Pingvin and LUGI, but played with discipline and efficiency. As a relatively young team, they are continuously gaining experience, growing in confidence, and improving their understanding of the game. Their performances showed not only individual progress but also a strengthening team structure!"
💥 The Men’s Team
The men brought the heat, grinding out a tough 12-5 win against Pingvin before securing a dominant 37-0 victory against Häljarp/Helsingborg to claim the top spot!
Men's captain Samuel Ahlbäck shared his thoughts on the team's performance:
"We turned up with a squad with a good mix of talented youth, experienced players, and a couple of new faces in new positions. Our goal was to win two games, which we did. So I’d say the team can be happy with their performance. With that said, the games revealed a lot of work-ons from our part, and I hope the boys are excited to get back to training to improve even further! We’ve got a lot of potential."
