Please welcome the most recent member of the Nordic Vicon User Group: Department of Rehabilitation (AFR), Jönköping University (JU), Sweden! AFR conducts education and research primarily in the fields of occupational therapy, orthotics, and biomechanics.

Last week we delivered a full Vicon system with 10 Valkyrie VK8 cameras along with 2 FLIR video cameras, integrating the AMTI force platforms already in the lab. While the rest of Europe watched the solar eclipse, we focused cameras and finally two days of install were followed by two days of user training, with an enthusiastic group of attendees!

Last week, Prophysics SOL hosted the annual MoCap Alliance meeting at prophysics AG’s new office in Zürich. The MoCap Alliance is a collaboration between four companies that provide high-end motion capture solutions. The event featured engaging discussions, idea-sharing, and even the resolution of some common challenges—along with plenty of salt licorice candy.

A special thanks to our sister company, prophysics AG, for hosting us in your fantastic new office!

We also had the opportunity to brush up on our German while attending Prophysics AG’s Vicon User Group Meeting at ETH Zürich. This year marks Prophysics AG’s 30th anniversary, which was celebrated in style later that evening.

Last week, we spent a few inspiring days in Watertown, MA, celebrating AMTI’s 50 years as a global leader in force measurement together with distributors and partners from around the world. The meeting was perfectly planned, both from a professional and social point of view and we brought back a deeper understanding of the AMTI products (and look forward to exiting things to come!). Finally, it was a joy to finally put faces to names of all those lovely people that we have interacted with in years.👏

Prophysics SOL has been on the road again!

We spent four productive days at OYS - Oulun yliopistollinen sairaala (Oulo University Hospital), where we installed a complete 3D optical Vicon system combined with AMTI force platforms and a fully integrated Theia markerless setup. We also upgraded their existing pressure analysis solution with a brand new 3‑meter Zebris system.

This comprehensive setup will support both clinical work in physical medicine, neurology, and orthopedics, as well as ongoing research. We’re confident that the skilled and experienced team at OYS will make excellent use of the new equipment!

A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of installing a Cometa WaveX EMG system at Haapsalu Neuroloogiline Rehabilitatsioonikeskus (Haapsalu Neurological Rehabilitation Centre). Their clinical gait analysis lab is already equipped with a Vicon motion capture system and AMTI force plates, so our visit also included servicing and optimizing the existing equipment, as well as providing training for the gait lab team.

It was great to catch up and to see Haapsalu again. Thank you Kadri Englas and Killu Mägi for the nice visit!

Exciting news!
prophysics SOL has successfully installed a Vicon Motion Capture system at Kiruna Space Campus, Luleå University of Technology (LTU).

This cutting-edge setup will support the Department of Computer Science, Electrical and Space Engineering in the FedLabs project, a collaboration with Cranfield University (UK) and Sapienza Università di Roma (IT). FedLabs is part of NATO’s “Science for Peace and Security” initiative, building a network of Federated Laboratories to advance research in Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) algorithms—especially for micro- and nano-satellites.

The Vicon system in Kiruna will initially be used to track rigid objects for satellite simulations, paving the way for innovative space technology testing.

A big thank you to Olle Persson and Luleå University of Technology for trusting us with another Vicon installation, and a special shout-out to Alex Shufflebotham for the fantastic collaboration during the setup!
