We closed Combatives Week at PRGA with CRASE, teaching civilians how to respond during an active-threat situation, including awareness, decision-making, first aid and tourniquet application.

Knowing how to stop severe bleeding and render immediate aid can be just as important as knowing how to protect yourself and others.

PRGA instructors have received ALERRT Train-the-Trainer certification, bringing this level of active-threat response training directly to Puerto Rico.

No need to travel stateside to gain access to high-quality instruction and practical skills.

La felicidad es vivir sin miedo.

A veces una sonrisa lo dice todo. Saber que puede mantener la calma, defenderse y confiar en lo que es capaz de hacer le da una seguridad diferente. De eso se trata el Jiu-Jitsu. No de buscar peleas, sino de darle a nuestros niños las herramientas y la confianza para saber qué hacer si algún día las necesitan.

COMBATIVES WEEK

For one week, we step outside traditional Jiu-Jitsu and focus on real-world application.

Combatives Week brings concepts from law enforcement training, FBI Academy defensive tactics, and ALERRT, modified specifically for civilian use.

PRGA’s instructor is also certified through ALERRT at Texas State University as an Active Shooter Level I Train-the-Trainer.

The focus: awareness, control, composure under pressure, and practical skills for situations outside the mat.

Great day on the mats today with the Wild Sharks Rafael Kunta Moreno visiting us at PRGA.

Thank you for coming over, sharing some rounds, and spending time with our team.

For me, this is one of the best parts of Jiu-Jitsu. We can train under different academies and represent different teams while still supporting each other and helping build something bigger.

Jiu-Jitsu in Puerto Rico is growing, and we want PRGA to always be a place where people can come together, train hard, learn from each other, and build friendships.

Our doors and our mats are always open to those who come with respect and good energy.

At our kids’ jiu-jitsu classes (little sharks) we help build confidence, focus, respect, and self-control. Games like this give children the opportunity to practice active listening, following directions, body awareness, coordination, and quick decision-making in a fun and engaging environment.

Through our kids anti-bullying program, we teach children to respond with confidence, respect others, set healthy boundaries, and support their teammates.

Every class helps them become stronger on the mat and more prepared for everyday life.
