They trained. They showed up. They passed. All of them. Ossu! 👊👊👊

The JKA Sibonga Chapter examinees cleared the Kyu Rank Examination last May 17 at the Argao Sports Complex and honestly, nobody who saw how hard they worked is even surprised.

Though Sensei Jel was no longer there to witness it personally, his teachings could still be seen in every student, every movement, and every lesson carried with discipline and heart.

A heartfelt thank you to Shihan Nilo Gunhuran for continuously supporting the chapter and for helping keep the passion, guidance, and legacy alive
and to the examiner, Shihan Franklin, for bringing the knowledge and the good energy that day.

Sensei, the world still feels like a mystery we cannot fully understand. There are questions we will carry for a long time, and silence where your voice used to be. But in the middle of all this uncertainty, one thing remains steady in our hearts: there is a heaven, and I believe God has prepared a dojo for you there, one without pain, without fatigue, where your spirit continues in perfect peace.

We are grieving, Sensei, and it is a heavy kind of grief. Not just because you are gone, but because someone like you is irreplaceable. The way you guided us, corrected us, believed in us even when we doubted ourselves, it was never loud, but it was deeply felt. It shaped us more than we realized at the time.

We miss your words that carried weight even when few.
We miss the way you made us better without asking for recognition.

Sensei… thank you for everything you gave, even the things we only now understand in your absence.

Rest now.

And we will miss you, always.

Sensei Jel's greatest legacy was found not only in his achievements, but in the life he wholeheartedly devoted to teaching others.

Through every lesson, every correction, and every quiet act of guidance, he left pieces of himself in the people he trained, shaped, and inspired.🥋🙇

The Belting Ceremony on March 14 was a day to remember, attended by Shihan Nilo Gunhuran and Sensei Jel. From focused karate drills to the awarding of belts, students showed how far they’ve come. It all wrapped up with a simple celebration with good food, shared stories, and lots of smiles.
