Learn how to execute the basics well ⬇️

Control your pelvic tilt.
Actually flex and extend your spine effectively.
Avoid excessive hip flexor involvement.
Advance your basic exercises progressively.

By the time you try flashy, advanced core exercises, you should already know exactly what it feels like to engage your core and control your spine, then the rest comes easy.

THROW THE BAR ‡️

Your pecs are big muscles, and they’re willing to help you muscle up if you let them 😍

Initiating the muscle up by extending your back, pushing your chest forwards, and then throwing the bar forwards and down will not only tap into those chest muscles, but will also help give you the pulling path you need to get around the bar and on top.

You can really exaggerate this when you’re first learning the muscle up to get a bit more of a full-body kip as well, and then work on tightening up your back, knees, and hips as you get stronger and want to clean it up later.
