A superb showcase of Boholano resilience and determination, even when circumstances were against the odds.

Our Boholano Sand Spikers once again proved that they belong to the upper echelon of beach volleyball in the country after securing a Bronze Medal in the Boys’ Category and advancing to the Championship Round in both the Girls’ and Women’s Categories of the National PRISAA Games 2026 in the City of Smiles — Bacolod City.

Out of the 17 participating regions in the country, our teams now stand among the final two remaining teams competing for the national title in both categories — a testament to the hard work, resilience, and determination of our Boholano athletes.

The tournament is set to conclude in exciting fashion as the Girls’ Team battles CALABARZON – Region IV-A, followed by the Women’s Team facing Region V – Bicol in their respective championship matches.

Both the Girls’ and Women’s teams are composed of athletes from University of Bohol under the stewardship of Coach Lem J. With the boys settling for a hard-earned Bronze Medal, the girls and women now carry the hopes of Boholanos in their quest for Gold on the sand courts this year.

We extend our best wishes to the players — Cheska Resoginto, Angel Destiny Balucan, and Yzobella Cielo Lorete for the Girls’ Team; and Aisha Aranas, Melca Valle, and Ella Mae Bocablo for the Women’s Team.

Beach volleyball will be the final tournament event remaining in the annual National Games which will end today, May 15, 2026, and all eyes will now be focused on the championship round.

Good luck and best wishes to our Boholano Sand Spikers. Bring home the Gold and continue making Bohol proud!

PNVF Produces 63 New National Referee Graduates

The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF), in partnership with the Bohol Volleyball Association, successfully produced 63 new graduates from the National Referee Candidate and Refresher Course, further strengthening the pool of qualified volleyball officials in the country.

The course was conducted in the City of Tagbilaran, Bohol, with sessions held at the University of Bohol Gymnasium and BIT-International College Gymnasium. The final evaluation, which included both practical examinations and real-game officiating, took place at the Taloto Covered Court in Taloto, Tagbilaran City.

Participants underwent intensive training that covered the latest rules, officiating mechanics, and game management. The program also emphasized actual game exposure, allowing candidates to demonstrate their competence in live match situations under the guidance of experienced national instructors.

The successful completion of the course by 63 participants reflects the growing commitment of the volleyball community to professionalize officiating and uphold the highest standards of the sport. This initiative not only equips referees with the necessary skills and knowledge but also ensures the continuous development of volleyball across all levels.

With this new batch of certified referees, the PNVF reaffirms its dedication to developing competent and credible officials who will serve in local, regional, and national competitions. The federation, together with its partner organizations, remains steadfast in its mission to elevate the quality of volleyball officiating in the Philippines.

The Bohol Volleyball Association extends its heartfelt gratitude to all its valued partners whose unwavering support made the National Referee Candidate and Refresher Course a truly meaningful and memorable experience.

PNVF NRCRC Participants in Action

As part of the six-day National Referee Candidate and Refresher Course (NRCRC), participants showcased their skills during the practical examination through real-game demonstrations and officiating.

The evaluation was held at the Taloto Covered Court, where they were assessed on how they perform in actual game situations as referees.

The volleyball referee course is conducted by the Philippine National Volleyball Federation and organized locally by the Bohol Volleyball Association.

This hands-on experience allowed them to apply their knowledge, demonstrate proper officiating mechanics, and exhibit sound decision-making under pressure—key qualities expected of competent volleyball officials, while ensuring alignment with national standards and contributing to the growth of volleyball in the community.
