Long Swing is Bad, Short Swing is Good!

❌BAD (LONG) Swing:
- Bat leaves your shoulder very early
- Too much top hand (dominant hand)
➡️Bat takes a long path to the ball (long swing)
➡️You have to swing earlier; you can't adjust to curveballs or different pitch locations
➡️Lots of strikeouts and lazy groundballs to third base

✅GOOD (SHORT) Swing:
- Bat stays connected to your shoulder for as long as possible
(OR hands/knob first, bat barrel follows)
(OR stay "inside" the ball)
(OR use your bottom hand to make contact)
➡️Short, quick swing
➡️A quicker swing means you can start your swing later, you can adjust to fast pitching, or to curveballs and different pitch locations
➡️You become a better hitter, with more power

Congratulations to Banga NHS Alumni Renier Arsigono and Joshua Tabucon (Class of 2025) for making their college baseball team at Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Colleges-Marbel, Inc. They are currently competing in the SCKAA PRISAA Local Meet in Koronadal City, as is former Banga player Nathaniel Dela Peña (Class of 2022) for Notre Dame of Marbel University.

Banga NHS Baseball was the host team for the 2025-2026 SCPAA Provincial Meet, led by Coach Basilio Sayo and Seniors Neil Viloria, Nathaniel Manla, Razel Escultura, and Kipper Dioso.

The highlight of the meet was a 4-0 win in Game 2 over Santo Niño , with the team playing through the earthquake to score victory. Banga went 1-2 overall in the meet, after a loss in Game 3 to eventual Bronze medalist Surallah.

Thank you to all of our Class of 2026 Seniors, who have given four years of hard work to our program. As always, we will come back stronger next year.
