Our NAUI swim test is actually labeled “watermanship skills.” Every certification level, it gets a little more challenging. This is just an entry level Open Water course and we only require novice level swimming ability to participate. But what you’re seeing here is Instructor Aks from MSU Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography going above and beyond, challenging the students to tread water with their hands out of the water. He knows what they can handle and he knows their dive journey is just beginning. So as you can see in those smiles, we keep things fun and light, and we won’t push you beyond what you can handle.
