I'm self motivated, positive and enthusiastic, with 26 years of proven experience as a Personal Trainer and Sports Massage Therapist. I have an extensive knowledge in a wide range of sporting codes and a sound understanding of injuries and injury rehabilitation. I pride myself on excellent customer service and the ability to comfortably relate with people at all levels insuring a positive outcome.

Trainer Tip Wednesday… Training miles 😅
One of the biggest mistakes I see as a coach is runners chasing mileage for the sake of mileage thinking more is better!
Sure volume matters but only when your body can absorb it.
Training adaptations don’t happen during the run. They happen during recovery, when your body responds to the specific stress you’ve applied.
The key word is *specific*.
A well-executed hill session develops muscular strength and power. A threshold workout improves your ability to sustain effort before fatigue takes over. A long run on technical terrain builds movement efficiency, durability, and fueling skills.

These purposeful sessions drive adaptation.

Adding extra miles that compromise recovery often delivers diminishing returns. Research consistently shows that training quality and appropriate recovery are critical for performance gains, while excessive fatigue impairs adaptation and increase injury risk.

Instead of asking:
“How many miles did I run this week?”
Ask:
“Did my training create the adaptations I was targeting?”
The best trail runners aren’t always the ones logging the biggest weeks. They’re the ones consistently executing the right sessions, recovering well, and stacking quality training over months and years.
Mileage after all is a tool.
Adaptation is the goal.

I share my run pace to show you don’t have to run fast to be a runner.
I don’t run because it’s the ‘in’ thing!
I run because it clears my head, challenges my mind, body and is good for my soul.

Trainer Tip Wednesday… Consistency 😅
As a coach one of the biggest things I try to teach my clients is that consistency will always be more important than perfection.
You do not need to train perfectly every single session to achieve results. What matters most is showing up consistently, putting in the work, and staying committed over time.
Real progress is built through repeated effort — session after session, week after week. Strength improves, fitness increases, confidence grows, and habits change when training becomes part of your lifestyle, not just a short-term phase.
There will be days where motivation is low and progress feels slow, but consistency during those moments is what creates long-term success.
The clients who achieve the best results are rarely the ones looking for quick fixes. They are the ones who stay disciplined, trust the process, and continue showing up even when it gets challenging.

Stay patient, trust the process, focus on consistency and the results will follow.

Your Health and Happiness for tomorrow is ultimately determined by the choices you make today. Try starting each day with a positive can do attitude and get into the habit of asking yourself are the daily choices that I’m making supporting the lifestyle I’m trying to create.
You don’t have to overhaul your whole life over night but if your looking for a lifestyle change you’ll have to keep showing up every day and getting it done!
