As well as Closing Day we celebrated our Club Champions for 2025-2026.

Yesterday we held our Closing Day.
With a full Green and the weather favourable we held an inaugural 2x4x2 Club Challenge.
A popular format this season with many of our bowlers attending 2x4x2 tournaments held throughout the region.
Coming out on top, the only pair with 4 straight wins, congratulations Esther & Pete.
This pairing was always going to be hard to beat.
They certainly spend many hours at the green practising against one another and enjoying the rivalry. Well done you two 👏🏼

Congrats Ross & Ange on your repeat performance in winning the Hāwera Park Under 10s 2x4x2 tournament again this year.
Opunake had 5 teams playing in some difficult weather conditions.
Out of 24 teams Ross & Ange were the only team out there today with the 4 wins.
Well done you two 👏🏼

Another successful tournament and our last for the season was held on Saturday.
The Surf Inn Under 8s Mixed Triples has been a popular Junior Tournament during its 10 year existence and this year was no exception.
Congratulations to all our Winners including our own Opunake team who placed 1st, along with two Stratford teams, Inglewood, and Fitzroy / West End, who all finished in the Top 5.
Thank you to Rita and her team for the organisation on the day and the beautiful kai.
As always thank you to our greenkeepers, Paddy & Daryl, without them we wouldn't be out there enjoying the game of bowls.

Last but not least A BIG THANK YOU to Charlie and the Surf Inn for your ongoing support of this tournament.
