A huge thank you to Tania and Kallum for putting our tamariki first. Over the past month, Tania and Kallum have dedicated their own time to furthering their skills by completing a Water Safety course and attending the Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics course yesterday. Even though the pool is currently closed for the winter season, they have continued to invest in their professional development all for our Aquatots tamariki and to ensure our youngest swimmers receive the best possible start in the water. Thank you both for your commitment to our tamariki, our pool, and our community.

You can now add your name(or your whānau’s) even your business to the wall and help secure the future of the pool.

HELP KEEP ŌPUNAKĒ AFLOAT 🤍

This pool has been part of our community for generations.
It’s where we learn to swim.
Where we cool off in summer.
Where we train, rehab, and get fit.

But right now, it’s at a turning point.

Without upgrades, we risk losing accessibility to our pool.
We’re not ready to let that happen.

This isn’t a pool, it’s our pool!

Life’s been pretty tough lately with Marks health diagnosis and lots of other major life stuff happening but what a pick me up it was to win the Opunake Community Baths Society Pig in a Box raffle. I like to support our local community raffles for no reason other than without doing that we would lose so many amazing facilities. I never expected to win! Today I picked up the prize and WOW that $20 I spent on raffle tickets sure paid dividends! Marks a very happy Chappy! Big thanks to the Opunake Community Pool Committee for the raffle. Especially Deb Hohaia for your amazing communication. Thanks to Karl Stanley for the 70kg pig!! I had to clean my freezer right out just to get it all in! And brilliantly processed too. Feeling very appreciative!
