As one sports season wraps up and another begins, it’s a great time to pause, reflect and learn.

So... we are hosting another Sport Otago Coach Development Workshop this month, with guest speaker Josh Phipps from North Otago Rugby Football Union.

Wednesday, September 16 | 6pm-8pm

It's an opportunity to reflect on your coaching and take new ideas into your next season – whether that's now or next year!

The workshop is open to coaches of all sports, all levels and all experiences. We've loved seeing the value of coaches learning from each other across different sports at previous workshops!

Smiles all round at our Term 3 Enabler Days! 🙌

A space where Waitaki tamariki and rakatahi of all abilities can give different sports a go, gain confidence, feel supported and, most importantly, have some fun!

Huge thank you to our friends at ParaFed Otago, Halberg Foundation, Golf Otago, North Otago Basketball, North Otago Rugby and Southern Football for running sessions at Orana Park and the Waitaki Community Recreation Centre and helping create inclusive opportunities for everyone!

Our Night 'n Day Rainbow Runs are getting even more colourful in 2026, with two new colour stations being added to every event across Otago! 🌈

So… we’re looking for more businesses and organisations to come on board as PINK and ORANGE Colour Station Sponsors at our events in Dunedin, Waitaki, South Otago, Wānaka, Queenstown and Alexandra.

It’s a chance to get your brand in front of local families and communities, get your team out into the community and have some fun throwing colour together – while supporting Sporting Chance, helping children affected by financial hardship take part in sport.

A bit of mid-week inspiration from our 2026 The Totara Store Masters Sportsperson of the Year, Valerie Muskett 👏

And after a year that included multiple Masters Games gold medals and a New Zealand age-group record at the Sri Chinmoy 24-Hour New Zealand Championships (by covering a whopping 142.034km!), she’s already looking ahead to her next challenge.
