Napier City Rovers Junior Football Club Napier City Rovers is one of the most successful clubs in New Zealand, the reason is due to the stre The club has grown from strength to strength since then.

Napier City Rovers was founded on the 6th of February 1973 by an amalgamation between Napier Rovers AFC and Napier City AFC. Once upon a time players left Napier to join bigger clubs and increase their chances of gaining full international honours by being selected for the NZ All Whites. How times have changed as now Napier find themselves as a stepping stone for players to gain NZ All White, NZ U

nder 23, NZ Under 20 and NZ Under 17 honours, such has been the success of the team over the last 20 odd years. Boasting a ground and administration set-up second to none in New Zealand, with constant results leading to League and Cup honours. Napier have been able to attract top players from around the country, as well as pushing through real talent to keep Napier at the top of the ladder in New Zealand Football.

King’s Birthday Weekend – The Thirsty Whale Restaurant and Bar Napier City Rovers Double Header & Cup Action

This King’s Birthday Weekend we have a huge few days of football ahead, with a Thirsty Whale double header at Bluewater Stadium and plenty of cup action to enjoy.

On Saturday, our Thirsty Whale Men’s team takes on Island Bay in a Central League catch-up fixture at Bluewater Stadium, kick off at 2pm.

Then on Monday, we kick off our Chatham Cup campaign with a 2pm fixture against Waterside Karori.

Sandwiched between the men’s fixtures is our Women’s Federation Cup match, where Thirsty Whale Napier City Rovers Women face Whanganui Athletic, with kick-off at 1pm at Bluewater Stadium on Sunday the 31st of May.

It’s shaping up to be a fantastic weekend of football, and we’d love to see plenty of support around the grounds for all three matches.
