A proud night for the Village.

Cooper Flanders and Tom Allen both started their rugby careers as juniors at Havelock North Rugby Club, and tonight they are named in the Hurricanes 23 for the final regular-season match against the Crusaders in Christchurch.

They join a proud group of Villagers who have represented HNRC and the Hurricanes in the same season:
Tony Lamborn and Ricky Riccitelli in 2016; Ihaia West and Gareth Evans in 2018; and Gareth Evans and Devan Flanders in 2020 and 2021.

Our Village connection across Super Rugby also includes Danny Lee and Bryn Evans with the Blues in 2008; Brendan ‘Doogie’ Edmonds, Gareth Evans and Ryan Tongia with the Highlanders in 2015 and 2016; Brendan ‘Doogie’ Edmonds and Gareth Evans in 2018; and Bryn Evans and Gareth Evans in 2022.

Cooper and Tom, all the very best tonight. Up the Villagers. Up the Canes! 💙🖤

Ps. There is no club rugby this King's Birthday weekend.
