If you’re heading down to the courts today, you won’t need to move far!

Both Lily Beck Real Estate Feilding Firebirds and Feilding A4 are in action at 1:30pm on neighbouring courts, giving supporters the perfect chance to catch both games at once.

A4 face arguably their toughest challenge yet, taking on the competition leaders after getting their first win on the board last week. Confidence will be high, but they’ll need to be at their best.

The Firebirds also have a big assignment ahead, coming up against a quality Hinetoa B12 side in what should be a fiercely contested battle.

Winter illnesses have left both teams a little short-handed this week, but if there’s one thing we know about these squads, it’s that they’ll fight for every ball and every pass.

Get down from 1:30pm and make some noise from the sideline.

Game day take 2!

Our Dawson & Gerrard Feilding A1 girls are on court tonight after their original game was impacted by a leak on Tuesday evening.

This time the game is up at Manukura in their gym, a familiar place for the team given its one of the venues we’ve split our training sessions between this season!

We’ll try our best to post points updates on the quarter breaks for those who can’t attend.

Week 4 kicks off tonight and and with it the halfway point of Round 1, every point is becoming more valuable as teams chase a top four finish.

First up at 5:45pm, Dawson & Gerrard Feilding A1 take on Manukura Red. Both sides have had a mixed start to the season, making this a crucial clash. With plenty of tough fixtures still ahead, a win here could prove invaluable in the race for finals netball.

Also at 5:45pm, Snap Fitness Feilding A3 face PNGHS A1 in what shapes as one of the matches of the round in Premier 2. Sitting 3rd and 4th respectively, there’s little separating these two sides. PNGHS boast a highly accurate shooting circle, while our A3 defenders have built a reputation for hunting ball and creating turnover opportunities.

Rounding out the night at 8:20pm, Team Ken & Whetu Feilding A2 meet Manawanui. Our A2 girls carry plenty of momentum after a string of convincing performances, but they’ll need to be at their best against a Manawanui side coming off their first win of the competition and eager to build on it.

Week three done and dusted, and it had a bit of everything, a nail-biting finish, big wins, and a team finally getting on the board!

Tuesday night saw our Premier teams take to the court, producing clinical results throughout the evening.

Our Dawson & Gerrard Feilding A1 side took control early, with the attacking end firing from the first whistle. As the game wore on, the defence started picking off crucial ball and converting it into opportunities at the other end, helping A1 pull away for a convincing 19-goal win.

Team Ken & Whetu Feilding A2 faced a PNGHS shooting circle that missed just three shots all game. That forced the defence to create turnovers before the ball reached the circle, and the attack end made the most of those gains to secure a 14-goal victory.

Our Snap Fitness Feilding A3 team met a Massey Reserves side looking to bounce back. The first half was closely contested, but composure through the midcourt and strong transition from defence to attack proved the difference as A3 finished with an 8-goal win.

Saturday saw our Club teams take the court hoping to join the winners’ circle.

Feilding A4 looked a different outfit this week, racing to a six-goal lead before Aumāia could get on the board. The defence continued to build pressure throughout the game, while timely changes helped manage momentum when Aumāia fought their way back into the contest. Strong game management in the final quarter saw the girls hold on for a 4-goal win and their first victory of the season.

Finally, our Lily Beck Real Estate Feilding Firebirds looked to complete a clean sweep against cross-town rivals FOBO Stags 1. A close contest throughout with momentum swinging both ways meant it was anyone’s game heading into the final quarter. The teams went goal for goal before a missed opportunity in the dying seconds proved the difference, with Stags taking the win. A valuable bonus point keeps the Firebirds’ top-four hopes well and truly alive.

Huge congratulations to our former Feilding A1 player, Emily Autagavaia, on making her National Netball League debut yesterday for the Northern Comets!

While we miss having Em around the club after her move to Auckland, we couldn’t be prouder to see her achieving her netball goals and earning her opportunity on the NNL stage.

Those who have watched Em’s journey know the hard work, commitment, and sacrifices that have gone into reaching this point. It’s a fantastic achievement and one that her family will be incredibly proud of.

From everyone at Feilding Netball Club, congratulations Em. We loved having you in the red dress, and we’ll be cheering you on from afar as you continue your journey in purple.

Special thanks to circleedgecreative for the image!

Second draw post for the week incoming!

Our Feilding Firebirds are flying high after last weeks win and look ahead for another Feilding v Feilding clash, this time Feilding Old Boys Ōroua! Both have experienced players and will be some exciting match ups throughout the court.

Then at 1:30pm our Feilding A4 girls take the court against Aumāia, another tight battle on the cards. The girls will benefit from having a full team tomorrow and look to build on a good week of training. The search for their first win must be coming to an end shortly!

See you court side supporting our girls in Red! Here’s hoping the weather holds out.

Another big week of netball is here, and it all gets underway tonight!

First up at 5:45pm, our Dawson & Gerrard Feilding A1 side take on COG on Court 4, while Snap Fitness Feilding A3 face Massey Reserves on Court 3.

Then at 7:20pm, Team Ken & Whetu Feilding A2 take over Court 4 to face PNGHS A1. At this rate we might need to rename it the Feilding Netball Club Court!

With every game becoming increasingly important, all three teams will be eager to put together strong performances and keep themselves firmly in the hunt for those crucial top four spots.

Another full week of netball is in the books, and we had two teams pick up their first wins of Round 1!

Our Tuesday night teams got things underway with some fierce battles across the board.

Dawson & Gerrard Feilding A1 faced another tough encounter against Rahui, as we’ve come to expect whenever these two sides meet. Momentum swung both ways throughout the match, with leads opening and closing right into the final quarter. In the end, Rahui held their nerve to take the win in another classic contest between the two teams.

Snap Fitness Feilding A3 were back on court determined to get their season rolling, and they did exactly that. Jumping out to an early lead against Manukura Black, they never looked back, powering home to a convincing victory. The healthy points differential could prove valuable later in the season.

Team Ken & Whetu Feilding A2 continued their strong start to the campaign against Massey Reserves. Recent meetings between the two sides have been closely fought, but A2 came out firing from the opening whistle and controlled the game. Two wins from two starts sees them sitting joint top of the grade.

The weather gods played their part on Saturday, delivering great conditions and some quality netball.

Lily Beck Real Estate Feilding Firebirds returned refreshed after the long weekend and were eager to bounce back. They stayed composed when SPOG applied the pressure, holding their nerve in another tight contest to come away with a well-deserved win.

Finally, Feilding A4 took on a determined Takaro Titans side. The girls matched their opponents for much of the game, but when contests are that evenly balanced, a small lapse can make all the difference. Unfortunately, it wasn’t their day this time. They’ll regroup, welcome back a full squad next week, and look to get into the winner’s circle.

Looks like the rain has cleared… for now! Here’s hoping it stays that way for a full afternoon of netball.

After a week off, our Saturday teams are back on court!

First up, Feilding Firebirds are back in action and looking to get on the board when they take on SPOG Steelers at 1:30pm. The Firebirds will be keen to hit the court firing and pick up their first points of the round.

Then at 2:30pm, just two courts over, our Feilding A4 side faces Takaro Titans. Both teams have had a tough start and will be hungry for their first win of the season, setting up what should be a competitive and entertaining clash.

Good luck to both teams, and don’t forget to get down and support our club this afternoon!

Week 2 is here!

The weather might be doing its best to keep everyone at home, but luckily we’ve got Premier netball back tonight to warm things up.

First up, our Feilding A1 girls take on Rahui. These two sides always seem to put on a good contest and tonight should be no different. Rahui will be looking to bounce back after a tough Week 1 loss, while our girls will be keen to keep building. Expect plenty of intensity from the first whistle.

Over on Court 4, Feilding A3 face Manukura Black in a battle of two teams hunting their first win of the season. There’s plenty of speed and athleticism across both line-ups, so don’t blink or you might miss something!

To finish the night, Feilding A2 take on Massey Reserves at 7:20pm. We’ve had the better of this match-up recently, but with new-look teams on both sides, anything can happen. If previous encounters are anything to go by, this should be a great way to round out the evening.
