Looks like the rain has cleared
for now! Here’s hoping it stays that way for a full afternoon of netball.

After a week off, our Saturday teams are back on court!

First up, Feilding Firebirds are back in action and looking to get on the board when they take on SPOG Steelers at 1:30pm. The Firebirds will be keen to hit the court firing and pick up their first points of the round.

Then at 2:30pm, just two courts over, our Feilding A4 side faces Takaro Titans. Both teams have had a tough start and will be hungry for their first win of the season, setting up what should be a competitive and entertaining clash.

Good luck to both teams, and don’t forget to get down and support our club this afternoon!

Week 2 is here!

The weather might be doing its best to keep everyone at home, but luckily we’ve got Premier netball back tonight to warm things up.

First up, our Feilding A1 girls take on Rahui. These two sides always seem to put on a good contest and tonight should be no different. Rahui will be looking to bounce back after a tough Week 1 loss, while our girls will be keen to keep building. Expect plenty of intensity from the first whistle.

Over on Court 4, Feilding A3 face Manukura Black in a battle of two teams hunting their first win of the season. There’s plenty of speed and athleticism across both line-ups, so don’t blink or you might miss something!

To finish the night, Feilding A2 take on Massey Reserves at 7:20pm. We’ve had the better of this match-up recently, but with new-look teams on both sides, anything can happen. If previous encounters are anything to go by, this should be a great way to round out the evening.

Saturday

The Firebirds opened proceedings with a local derby against Feilding Yellows. As expected, neither side gave an inch in a hard-fought battle, but it was Yellows who took the bragging rights this time. We can’t wait for the rematch later in the season!

Our Feilding A4 girls may have been short on numbers, but they certainly weren’t short on fight. In what was easily their strongest performance of the season so far, A4 went toe-to-toe with Kia Toa Royals for much of the match. Every time Royals threatened to pull away, the girls fought back. The gap continued to shrink in the final stages before Royals held their nerve to escape with a narrow four-goal win.

Tuesday

Feilding A1 looked like they were still shaking off the last of their pre-season rust against Massey A2, finding themselves chasing the game early. Once they found top gear though, there was no looking back. Strong defensive pressure and slick ball movement saw them storm home to an impressive opening-round victory.

Next up was Feilding A3 against an experienced Aranui outfit. While the scoreboard may suggest one story, those watching courtside saw another. The improvements from week one were impossible to miss, particularly through the defensive end where the girls created turnovers, applied relentless pressure and showed exactly what this team is capable of.

Saving the late-night entertainment for last, Feilding A2 took the court at 8:10pm against Manukura Black. Despite the late start, both teams came out firing in a fast, skilful and highly entertaining encounter. The athleticism and intensity on display made for quality viewing, before A2’s experience shone through late to secure a 12-goal win.

Round 1 is now in the books and all five teams have given us plenty to be excited about. With the new competition format placing extra importance on every win and bonus point, every match-up counts.

Bring on Week 2! đŸ”„

Three Feilding teams back-to-back-to-back? What better way to spend your Tuesday evening!

Our Dawson & Gerrard Feilding A1 side takes the court first at 5:45pm, looking to kick off their season the right way with a strong performance to open Round One.

At 7:10pm, it’s our Snap Fitness Feilding A3 team taking on Aranui Black. After a tough outing last week, the girls have had a week to regroup, reset, and refocus as they look to bounce back with an improved performance.

Then closing out the night at 8:10pm is our Team Ken & Whetu Feilding A2 side up against MANUKURA Black. After a challenging result last week, the team will be determined to respond and start Round One on a high.

Results from both Saturday and Tuesday fixtures will be posted later this week. See you courtside!

After three weeks of grading, positions are locked in and the 2026 competition season officially begins today.

Round 1 gets underway with an all-Feilding clash at 12:30pm as the Feilding Firebirds take on Feilding Yellows Firebombs. With both sides eager to open their season with a win and plenty of familiar faces across the court, this one should be an exciting battle from start to finish.

At 1:30pm our Feilding A4 side face a strong Kia Toa Royals team to begin their Championship 3 campaign. The girls will be looking to start well, back their structures, and put together a composed performance across all four quarters.

Head down to Vautier and get behind our Feilding teams as the season officially gets underway!

Tuesday night saw our Feilding A2 & Feilding A3 sides wrap up grading against their toughest opponents yet.

First up were our Feilding A2 girls taking on a determined COG A1 side. As expected, it was a tight battle with momentum swings throughout the match and both teams having their moments. Heading into the closing stages the game could’ve gone either way, but a late run of goals secured the win and Premier 1 promotion for COG A1. Our A2 side will now regroup and set their sights on competing for the Premier 2 title on Tuesday nights.

Earlier results in Group A had already confirmed Premier 2 spots for both Feilding A3 and Aranui Black, but that didn’t slow the game down one bit. The match-up was fast, aerial, and exciting from start to finish. The sides went goal for goal through the first half before the experience of Aranui’s key players created a gap in the third quarter. Credit to our A3 girls though, they continued to fight right to the end and closed the margin again in the fourth. A major goal for this group was simply earning the opportunity to compete on Tuesday nights, and they’ve achieved that! We can’t wait to watch this team continue to grow.

Despite the results, the growth of the club was on full display during these grading games. New players to the club and players experiencing Premier-level netball for the first time stepped up and embraced the challenge. For a club with just five teams, securing three Tuesday night spots is a huge achievement and one we’re incredibly proud of. It was a position we hoped to achieve again over time, but reaching it this quickly is a credit to everyone involved.

The season ahead is shaping up to be an exciting one, and we can’t wait to finally see our Feilding A1 side take the court alongside our Feilding A2 & A3 teams!

Grading Week Three is complete and all five of our Feilding teams officially know their divisions for the 2026 season!

Our Feilding A4 side were involved in their tightest battle yet, finishing just three goals short against Marist A3. The team continues to improve every week and will now turn their attention to Championship 3 competition.

The Feilding Firebirds were also part of a thriller, narrowly edged by three goals in another strong performance. An experienced group with plenty of composure on court, the Firebirds have earned promotion into Championship 4 for 2026 a well deserved jump up from last year!

Final night of grading is here and two massive match ups are set to make your Tuesday night entertaining.

First up, our Feilding A2 side face a winner-takes-all clash against COG A1. Win or draw and Feilding will have two teams competing in Premier One this season. Fall short and it’ll be a year in Premier Two. Both sides have put together commanding performances across their grading games so far, so expect this one to be physical, fast and tight right to the final whistle.

Once everyone’s heart rate settles after that battle, our Feilding A3 girls take the court against an exciting Aranui Black line up featuring a few familiar faces from Feilding Netball Club’s past. Aranui have already secured their Tuesday night spot, while our girls will know exactly what’s required by the time they step onto the court. The equation in its simplest form, win and they’ll join Aranui in Premier 2 and our Feilding A1 & A2 teams on Tuesday evenings this season.

No matter the outcome, this shapes as the perfect challenge for the girls against a side full of speed, agility and athleticism heading into round one. Tuesday night netball doesn’t get much bigger than this.

A huge congratulations to our very own Feilding A2 player Taylor-Rose Thompson on her selection for the INNZ New Zealand Ladies team touring South Africa later this year!

This is an incredible achievement and a reflection of the hard work, dedication and commitment TR continues to show both on and off the court. To earn the opportunity to represent New Zealand is something special and everyone at Feilding Netball is extremely proud.

We can’t wait to follow the journey and see TR take on the international stage in South Africa later this year. Your club is behind you all the way!
