That’s a wrap on another racing season

As the curtain closes on another season, we’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who has been part of our journey.

To our incredible stable hands, thank you for your dedication, hard work and the countless early mornings. The care and commitment you give our horses every day never goes unnoticed.

To our trackwork riders, thank you for the time, patience and skill you put into every ride. Your work behind the scenes is a huge part of every horse’s preparation and success.

To our jockeys, thank you for your professionalism, support and the confidence you bring on race day. We truly appreciate every opportunity you give our horses.

And to our wonderful owners, thank you for your ongoing trust, loyalty and support. Racing is a team effort, and we’re incredibly grateful to have such a fantastic group of owners sharing the journey with us.

The standout moment of our season was undoubtedly Toa hakas brilliant victory in the TAB southern Alps challenge. It was a special day for everyone involved and one we’ll remember for many seasons to come.

To everyone who has supported the David Walsh Racing team throughout the season—whether at home, at the races or from afar—thank you. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, helps make our stable what it is.

Stable Hand Wanted

A busy racing stable based at Riccarton Park is looking for a reliable and hardworking stable hand to join our team.

Experience working with horses is preferred, and the successful applicant will be part of a professional, supportive, and fast-paced racing environment, caring for a quality team of racehorses.

Be able to work 5 days a week with the odd weekend shift- hours from 5.00am till 9.30am/ 1.30pm-3.30pm. Race day work available too for the right fit person

Track riding experience would be a bonus but is not essential.

Applicants must:
* Have experience handling horses.
* Be reliable, motivated, and able to work well in a team.
* Hold a current New Zealand work visa or have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
